(Friendly, exasperated ribbing) People pronounce "restaurant" as "restorant"?? As in "restore"?? Is that a thing??
#I keep saying it in my head#resTORant#RESTORANTT#nobody said anything in the notes????#look I KNOW different areas have different dialects#but it's taking all my willpower not to ask#how they pronounce ''hors d'oeuvres''#and ''rendezvous''#and that would be mean#this feels like the time I finally realised ''Looney Tunes'' is a pun#because ''tunes'' and ''toons'' aren't pronounced the same in my dialect#so the pun was never there#and also the day I figured out why so many people accidentally write ''make due'' instead of ''make do'' for the same reason#I spent SO LONG being like#''how the FUCK could you confuse ''make jew'' with ''make doo''?''#every now and then I discover little accent and dialect differences that blow my tiny little mind#Dusty talks
