ResumUP - The Virtual Resume
http://lifehacker.com/5940275/resumup-builds-a-roadmap-to-your-dream-career-and-weve-got-invites
Hello everyone. Me (Kenny) and Chayla have been talking about how to incorporate resources in our updates for the blog. Well if you click the above link, it will take you to the lifehacker article about this online website called ResumUP. It's basically an online resume for you to show to others, be it employers or other people that would need to see such information.
Being in the 21st century, there is going to be a point in time where it will be beneficial for you have an electronic copy of your resume and not just a physical one that is mostly comprised of black letters in various fonts. You are going to have to find ways to separate yourself with other potential new hires if you want to get the new job. This is one way to accomplish that.
Right now I am trying this out myself to keep it on file. I'm not the kind of person who tells others to do something without me trying it out first. Also, the look of your resume is amazing. There is also a way to connect your resume to your facebook and linkedin profile. I know there maybe people who do not like the use of facebook connecting to outside sites, so I'm glad to see a linkedin option as well.
So please use this service to keep an online resume on file. Impress your interviewees and potential employers of just how tech-savvy you are.
Fancy online resumes, the future or just a fad?
I just came across a new resume service online, resumup. I'm not sure what I think of it right now, but here is a screenshot of what my resume looks like after about 20 minutes of tweaking:
It wasn't very easy to use for me, some of the buttons would be unresponsive, and it just felt a little slow. I felt really annoyed that I connected to my LinkedIn but it couldn't actually import the data. It did of course get it from Facebook, but that was hardly a benefit as I had to tweak all the dates and info.
Interesting idea?
Resumup, kişisel bilgilerinizle infografik oluşturabileceğiniz bir site.
