Back at you again! Got any ideas for a Lion King AU for Ark? What species would you imagine her as, if not a lion?

((OH GOODY I've been picking at an idea for a Lion King AU on and off for a bit now. :D

I'll start off with the quickest question first - a non-lion species for Ark! I think her as a leopard would be pretty cool! She would still be very dangerous and awesome!

My Lion King/Tron AU is a mix of Lion King, Tron: Legacy, Tron: Uprising, a little bit of shenanigans, and a lot of vibes.

Like you, I was thinking of Flynn as Mufasa-esque and Clu as Scar-like.

Flynn's the leader of the pride, everything's cool until the ISO (maybe stands for isolated?) lion pride shows up fleeing a drought. Flynn gladly welcomes them in, while Clu doesn't like that idea.

When drought arrives at their lands, the ISO lions are blamed for it. Flynn helps some ISO lions relocate (like the Arq system), but he can't protect all of them.

Some kind of disaster strikes and Clu makes his move. Flynn and Quorra flee, but they're assumed to be dead.

A good few lions don't like this situation and they split off into different factions.

Alan and Lora probably grabbed baby Sam and fled at the first possible opportunity.

There's the Renegade faction with Tron, Able, Cyrus, and Ark. Cyrus gets too dangerous, so he gets trapped in some kind of bizarre cave system where he survives off bugs and underground water sources. Cyrus' actions cause the Renegades to splinter, Tron and Ark both choose to go off alone, while Able takes care of young lions that don't have anybody else.

Eventually, Able finds Beck and takes care of him, until he keeps picking fights with Occupation lions and getting into trouble, so Tron takes him in to teach him how to fight in smarter and more sensible ways.

There's probably other factions out there, too, likely at least one out in the oasis similar to where Timon and Pumbaa live.

Ark hides out probably somewhere similar to the Elephant Graveyard, depending on how big it is, the other Renegade factions might live in other parts of it - but they rarely come across each other. (In some versions I've played with Ark being on decent terms with a group of hyenas - I personally think it's more fun if there's some good and/or neutral hyenas, instead of them all being evil.)

Ark and Tron and Beck all probably fight back against the Occupation lions when they can, but there's not much they can do on their own.

Anyway, Sam or another character, more on that in a bit ends up gathering all the factions to get them to work together to face off with Clu and the Occupation lions. They probably find Flynn and Quorra at some point, too.

Flynn doesn't die in the battle versus Clu because this is my AU, lol. Clu is defeated and the Occupation driven out.

As for the drought, maybe it broke in the middle of things or it does some time after, so everything is good, yay!

I haven't thought too much about the plot, it's more about the ~vibes~, lol.
