Twenty eight years ago, 28th February 1998, something horrible happened—something which has cast a baleful shadow of disease and suffering over the last almost three decades. A scientific paper was published. The lead author has been thoroughly discredited (struck from the medical register, revealed to be a fraud) and the paper itself has been retracted. But because of this paper, today (for me at least) marks the birth of the modern anti-vaccine era.

Which is why, on February the 28th, I wear black.

So, uh, thanks for noticing and clarifying? Fortunately I wasn’t at my computer during this span of time so I got the ‘wrong person’ one first, even, so harm was averted. I absolutely would have been unable to resist the urge to comb through everything I’ve said for weeks trying to figure out what I was getting hated on for, vibrating anxiously that this might be only the first assay of a campaign, and I absolutely would not have guessed ‘wrong inbox’ ever.

😂😂😂 Gonna now shoot for making that my default reaction to hate this vague. ‘Huh, wrong inbox clearly, I need waste no emotion on this event other than mild amusement at some person’s error.’

You know, I actually have multiple fics where Batman discusses this as a reason for not allowing yourself to go around doing murders? Because eventually you’re going to kill the wrong person, due to mistaken identity or other bad information or because you made the wrong call about whether lethal force in this case was necessary or appropriate or even deserved. But too late, the consequences have already fallen, on someone who is not you.

And that’s not an outcome anyone should be okay with, which is why even if the Joker needs murdered Jason shouldn’t make a whole praxis of it, and why anon hate is generally just not a cool thing to do.

The research article on consumption of microplastics by larval fish that was reported for misconduct in research will be retracted from the journal Science. The researchers behind the study themselves requested to retract the article at the end of last week, following sharp criticism of the study in an opinion from the Central Ethical Review Board.
