Tiki Black has recently announced a new studio album: "The Sound Of The Broken Wand"

September 2023 - Tiki Black is a very diverse and highly creative musician, whose sound explores the intimacy of contemporary indie-folk music with hints of soul, jazz, and so much more.

The Sound Of The Broken Wand” happens to be her most recent album, and it is an amazing example of her creative depth and impeccable ear for melody. This particular studio work features a very understated sound, with amazing folk influences, laced with vocal melodies that are inspired by old-school soul and R&B. The release unfolds over the span of 9 songs, including “The Debt,” a stunning opener that immediately sets the mood with its elegant, yet energetic sound. There are so many noteworthy musical moments here, but “The Crown’s Crumbs” happens to be one of the most touching musical moments. This 3/4 ballad is based on a sparse arrangement where the singer’s voice gets to shine in all of its nuances and pathos. The closing track, “Colour Me Blue,” is also amazing: the drums are fat and warm, and the electric piano tones tip the hat off to old Motown records, with a fat and punchy power! Overall, this album is a true experience, and it’s a musical journey with some amazing retro tones and fresh melodies!
