I’m just gonna say, I hate that I still kind of ship retsuton and it’s all kind of your fault. What’s worse is that this season developed him more and they actually went golfing and I’m just sjdhehjwndb

There’s tons more fuel for that fire this time around, huh??

consider...: Ton and his wife have an open relationship, they only married and had children because of societal pressure and both have specific needs they find in other people

i had thought about that :’)) !! Ton seems to adore them (underneath the surface of annoyance and gruffness) but i can also see him and his wife not being in a very uh?? affectionate marriage,, they don’t seem to be very close,,

like i didn’t even get the impression he was married until now!! I thought he was a single office worker bc he got on to the train alone,,, and I didn’t see him with them in the Christmas ep… <_> ,, and i can imagine it being a lowkey thing that’s known in their lil family that they Don’t Talk About Often… maybe even to the point that the men his wife see are called “uncle” by their twins LMAO

HOWEVER… I feel like even Ton would be the type to turn down an advance from anyone interested. He’s a bastard in a lot of ways but I feel like he’d stick to his guns in terms of “I’m a married man, don’t start with me”, that’s the impression i got from his speech anyway… he chose to pursue the life of matrimony, he has to live by the rules set by himself. He bowed to societal pressure and the impending feeling of loneliness not being in a relationship brings, and decided to get hitched, perhaps a little too quickly to think it through. 

And… honestly, would Retsuko would be okay with it? She seems very into the idea of marriage, and to be pursued by an already married man would be a BIG no no as far as I can tell. She would feel awful, I think, even if the marriage is a sham! Because you said your vows… at least get divorced or something… 

SORRY TO HAVE TAKEN THIS ASK SO SERIOUSLY i definitely get what ur saying,,, fun ideas to explore >:) im very into the idea of polyamory and if im being self indulgent i’d def be like “hell yeah husband and wife swingers,,, do IT”!! but “realistically” i’d be like,,, nnnno they’d have to get divorced first hmmmM
