Adjusting to Life in Scotland
Make no mistake that I knew beforehand that living in Scotland after growing up in South Africa would be a major adjustment. An adjustment I was only too happy to make even though I did not know how I would ever get used to the cold, as my home country is hot and humid with strong winds though in Cape Town. I entered my new country and city as well as neighborhood with anticipation and could not have been more surprised at its charm.
Clive used to live in Partick when he was a student and lived there still after he graduated, however he said we should look at a suitable apartment in another community called Hyndland. It is a typical area for rich and upcoming young professionals with beautiful high-ceilinged apartments and I could not be happier to choose an apartment there. We met with excellent estate agents and decided that Rettie had some of the best two-bedroomed apartments in lovely quaint streets. In particular did both of us love a second-floor apartment with a shared garden even though it had four bedrooms we fell in love with the red sandstone building in the heart of the West End.
Clyde Property is yet another excellent agency with whom we might deal if we could only decide between which places we loved more. The house we were shown with an excellent garden might be the better option as it is smaller with three bedrooms and one bathroom. Although the prices were similar we did not have to share a garden, and it would be perfect to raise a future family.
