Earth Day
I don't recycle (except for turning things into hand bags). I should feel bad about this, but I don't have the energy. I'm a meat eater, I drive everywhere... but one thing I truly hate is all those stupid plastic bags I get at the store every weekend. You buy 8 things from Walmart and they give you 3 bags. Don't even get me started on our local Kroger. Their baggers are morons (apologies if you're a local Kroger bagger, but if so you really might want to work on that.) This morning someone I follow (hi @arizonaknitter) posted a link to this blog post and I was just thrilled with the idea. I immediately got 3 tshirts out of my closet that I never wear and in about 10 minutes time had 3 new huge reusable totes!! I used a unisex sz L tshirt for all but one of these and that one was an M.
I tried them out on our shopping trip this afternoon at Target, Ross, Kroger and GNC and they worked perfectly! Hoorays! No more 6 billion plastic bags for me to have to get rid of!
