i’m a picky chicken eater. i can’t help it. it’s my grandma’s fault, because she can fry some chicken. i saw a post earlier today by @thepreserverybham in the @thepizitz and it said they have the best chicken in birmingham. 🤷🏽♀️ so i had to go see. i had been eyeing those collards greens too but brunch was still being served so i ordered the chicken and french toast. i started with a small taste of the french toast (i’m two weeks bread free but i had to tell you all what it tastes like, right?). well, imagine this. cinnamon swirl raisin bread (it doesn’t have raisins but that’s what it reminded me of), a cinnamon roll, and the slight hint of egg that you find in good french toast! i quickly passed the french toast to meak to finish because i would have done some serious damage. it’s everything. then the chicken, *mic drop*!!! this chicken is absolutely amazing. you see the seasoning in the photo, so you know the flavor is there. but the bite is so juicy! everything chicken should be. best in birmingham? let me just say this, if i’m downtown and want chicken, i’m caught in the middle of a love triangle!! meak is a picky eater. period!! i was nervous that he ordered the salmon croquettes. not because of the biscuit or salmon, but i wasn’t sure how the fried egg and hollandaise sauce would work out with him. he complimented the dish from first bite! 😳 and stated he loved the egg like 3 times (who is this dude). of course i had a taste and he’s right, it’s delicious. so to sum it up @thepreserverybham is the place to go today! i met #chefdrefoster as i was leaving, and she is the sweetest!!! girl you have taken #blackgirlmagic to another level!
