Actually your wrong about ogres being a recent thing cause At -410 Ancient a group of kossith landed in the southern Korcari Wilds and established a colony. This group is believed to have been captured by darkspawnduring the First Blight; the darkspawn then turned some of the females into broodmothers, and those in turn gave rise to the first appearance of ogres in Thedas Shrieks also probably appeared later
I...this is literally what I said though.
Ogres were not original darkspawn and only appeared after Kossith (not Qunari) were captured and converted, they were not originally part of the First Blight and that’s saying a lot because the First Blight lasted 200 years and started in -395 Ancient (i.e. -410 is a long time for the possibility of Ogres to come up in retrospect). Meanwhile, if any current Ogres are of the Qunari-kind (which is unknown), those actually wouldn’t have appeared till around the Storm Age when the Qunari first appeared in Thedas. Which is also much more current than the Ancient Age.
And both Shrieks and Genlocks appeared later, because only humans travelled into the Fade (as far as we know) starting the blight, thus the only Original darkspawn were hurlocks, broodmothers, and emissaries (although all probably of the hurlock-kind).
So sorry I wasn’t more specific, especially about what I meant by current?
