After a six post run of coasters from Six Flags New England, we're finally back for another coaster at Six Flags America. And very similar to Pandemonium at New England from yesterday, here we have another spinning coaster. While I mentioned that I didn't get a lot of spinning during my ride on Pandemonium, Ragin' Cajun is a completely different story lmao.
This may have been the most spinning I've ever gotten on a spinning coaster lol. The only other experience that might rival Ragin' Cajun was the ride I got on Galaxy Spin at Fun Spot Kissimmee back in 2021. While the car my sister and I rode in on Pandemonium was not very off-balance, here, it was just the two of us in the ride vehicle and I think that had a big part in the ridiculous amount of spinning that we did. Once we got to the free spinning section during the second half of the ride, it was nonstop spins til the end lol.
I have no idea what Reverchon or Six Flags America or whoever did/does to this ride, but from what I've heard, this one always seems to give crazy amounts of spinning to its riders. It's fairly well known for it's wild spinning ride, so I'm glad I got the chance to check it out for myself. Ragin' Cajun is also an exact clone of Exterminator at Kennywood, and I absolutely spun more on this one than I did on that ride. The first half of the ride with the first bunch of swtichbacks has the train locked, so you don't spin there. Those switchbacks are kind of whatever. You take them fairly slowly and they feel pretty similar to your standard Wild Mouse coaster. But once you reach that second half and start spinning, you're in for a wild ride. It's definitely not the kind of ride for someone with motion sickness, that's for sure lmao.
This was easily the longest line we waited in during our visit since the ride has such low capacity. The line was also completely uncovered and under the hot sun, which was not very pleasant either </3 A few other little tidbits about the ride before I close things out. This park is this coaster's second home, since in 2014, it got relocated from Six Flags Great America to Six Flags Just Kind Of Alright America lmao. So if you're from the Chicagoland area and this ride seems familiar to you, that might be why :3
And on that note, since Six Flags America's closing date is fast approaching, there's a lot of speculation as to which coasters could be relocated and saved. Of the park's coasters, as much as I would love for rides like Wild One or Joker's Jinx to be saved, I think just about the only one with a realistic shot at getting moved would be Ragin' Cajun. It's a small model designed to be portable and could fit just about anywhere with its small footprint. It's a family thrill coaster so just about any park that doesn't already have a spinner or a Wild Mouse could work with it. I wouldn't be surprised if we see this pop up at another park in the chain, or even somewhere else entirely, down the line at some point. Hopefully that ends up being the case, and if it does get moved, it can keep it's crazy spins.
Thanks for checking out today's coaster post! Keep an eye out for tomorrow's coaster!
