You know what could be a pretty messed up Side Effect of Reverse Cursed Technique?

You know how as cells multiply they start to get damage and get old and basically start to "lose featutes"?

What if RCT's disadvantage was that sometimes the healed new skin areas aren't able to use the user's Cursed Technique?

Imagine gojo gets one of his feets blown out so he makes a new one, now he has an Achille's heel situation bc his Infinity wouldn't manifest normally in there

Although maybe it'd be better if this occoured when someone else heals a sorcerer with RCT like Shoko or Yuta(?

Since it's not their own cells who are healing, but the cells of someone else, maybe there is a point where if thewy tried to heal too much tissue there was a risk of affecting the user's ability to use their CT if the area damaged was one related to the use or activation of their technique(?

So I had a thought...

And this thought pertains to one Shoko Ieiri and one Mahito (and yeah a little bit of Yuji thrown in, but he’s not the main point in this).

Why is it that in the anime, Mahito claims that Yuji is his natural enemy, while in the manga it’s stated that Yuji is his mortal enemy? By definition the two types of enemies are different from one another, a mortal enemy being “ someone one [who] hates very much and for a long time”, and natural enemy, “...organisms that kill, decrease the reproductive potential of, or otherwise reduce the numbers of another organism.” (BTW I found it very interesting that there was no definition in the Merraim-Webster online dictionary for natural enemy at the time of posting: 5/2/21)

If we are going by the base definition of natural enemy, then yes, by all means, Yuji would be Mahito’s natural enemy; but subsequently, so would any Jujutsu sorcerer. End of day, Mahito is a curse, and it is the job of a Jujutsu sorcerer to exorcise curses (aka: kill, cull the population, exterminate). Same thing with mortal enemy, by definition Yuji is with out a doubt, his mortal enemy; the kid hates him! But anyone could end up hating Mahito like Yuji does, if not more!

This being said, I don’t think that we as the reader/watcher are meant to come to the conclusion of this definition for natural and mortal enemy. I think that naturally, the reader/watcher comes up with the conclusion of something that relates more to this definition of predator “ one who injures or exploits others for personal gain or profit  “. Because let’s face it, Yuji does have one thing to gain by killing (exorcising) Mahito; revenge for Junpei, of what ifs? of what could have been? and the added bonus of one less threat to the world, a possible one more life saved, spared, because of Mahitos absence/death. 

And with enough training, enough time, Yuji will be Mahito’s natural born predator.

Which brings me back to the point at hand, the use of natural enemy and mortal enemy. Mahito has been referred to as a child by Nanami, he is the younger of the four curses born by the world. So as a child, having an enigma like Yuji pop up in his own personal world, I do see how Mahito would be inclined to call Yuji his natural/mortal enemy. Unfortunately, Mahito is wrong.

No, Mahito’s natural enemy, as natural as it gets, would be Shoko Ieiri. 

(Please bear in mind I have left out mortal enemy for a reason, please keep reading to find out why.)

Mahito’s curse technique deals with the manipulation of the humans soul, something that can only be protected with cursed energy if one is aware of their soul ie: Yuji. 

Shoko Ieiri, through using reverse cursed technique is able to heal a humans body through positive energy (Click here for a good rundown of the Reverse Cursed Technique). The question is, is Shoko only healing the human body, or like Mahito, is she healing the human soul?

Two faces of the same coin, you can say. One destroys, the other heals. Would they cancel out, or would one over take the other, and in the end, it’s hard to say because we don’t really know how Shoko heals the body. Yes, we do know that she can, to put it simply, combine cursed energy and make it positive, but we don’t know if that positive energy is touching the soul. (I don’t remember if Shoko has healed Yuji yet, if so, please let me know because that could both answer and bring up more questions.)

And now on to mortal enemy. While it would be hard to call Shoko Mahito’s mortal enemy it wouldn’t be surprising if one day, if he found out what she could do, if Shoko really can heal by the soul, that Mahito would find an intense loathing for her. After all, how dare a human be able to do something that presumably only he a child like curse can do. He is special, no one else.

Anon what is RCT? I googled it and nothing came up. I'm all for Gojo, Shoko but also Geto Nanami Haibara being stoners since their highschool years but I am not sure I am getting you right
