How reverse Wirt (Walter McHale) met The Beast
A boy about ten years of age stood on the the field of the snow feeling strangely serene at the scene before him.
He was waiting
Waiting for someone to find him
Because he was lost
Because he had gone outside of his parents mansion
He had sneaked past the maids and butlers
And went for a walk
He had wandered and lost himself at the woods
So he was now waiting for someone to find him
While being content to feel the drops of ice around him
He waited
He shivered
And waited
He sneezed
and waited
He felt hungry
and waited
He felt weak
and waited
Until he heard someone
He weakly turned quivering
Tall
Dark
Antlers and glowing eyes
Cold
Intimidating
Terrifying
Somewhat beautiful
Staring down at him
W-what... Are you,,,?
I am the Beast
Deep
Unyielding
Powerful
Lilting
Voice
You've here standing for too long
Why?
I am waiting he said
For what?
For someone to find me he said
The Beast laughed
Foolish boy no one will ever come after you
I know the boy said
What do you mean? the beast asked
I'm unwanted the boy said
The Beast was silent
That's why no one would ever come after me he continued
The boy smiled sadly
I had hope that i mattered enough to them
enough that they would come after me...
Tears fell...
I tried so hard
To be good, to be perfect
So that they would never look at me with those eyes
Eyes
Cold
Filled with disdain
Disappointment
Bitter
With resentment
The Beast stared down at him
A boy so young filled with so much despair
Pathetic the Beast said
Go back, I have no use for such weak souls
The Beast turned and walked away
His silhouette disappearing into the forest
The boy was left alone
(A/N: don’t know how to write so yeah....this is my take on reverse Wirt where Wirt was so depressed at such a young age that he accidentally got lost in the woods n the winter and almost died of hypothermia. Then he met the Beast who in an uncharacteristic sense of pity spared him because he secretly felt sorry for him. Then Wirt kept finding ways to get to the Unknown( he learned to be reckless) because he got attached and their relationship grew to be a father/mentor thing.)
