I am so proud of you.
Today, you told me about how you're going in for a job interview tomorrow.
You sounded so nonchalant and casual. You were probably just fronting. I could just hear you rolling your eyes, over the phone.
I didn't show it, but it made me so happy to hear that. You make me so proud. This is something that will get you far, even if you don't think it will for now.
I know you have the capability and skill set to go so far in life. Yeah, you have definitely experienced some setbacks recently. But if I know you even a little bit, the world is full of opportunities for you. You can do it.
I really hope that this works out for you. I was just so, so proud to hear you tell me about this.
Baby Roe // Harper
Running a hand through his hair, his other hand held his iPhone. Scott looked down at his phone, responding to a text Monroe had sent him. He had become close friends with the senior years ago, and she made a comment about having a baby Monroe walking around.
Sitting in the court yard, his sunglasses covering his eyes he scanned the crowd, he could see Monroe where she sat with Chloe Benét, one of the sweetest yet dominate seniors he knew. Watching as she nodded her head in the direction, his eyes rested on a long haired brunette. She was gorgeous, and looked much older then a Sophomore. Flashing Monroe a light smile he nodded his head discretely before tucking his phone into his pocket and standing up.
The young girl sat by herself at a table, absorbed in bag of make-up touching up her face. Strolling over to where she sat he stood across the table from her and rested his hands on the table. “You look great, don’t worry about it.” he smiled gently at the young girl, extending his large hand. “Scott Ellington, I’m friends of Monroe. Figured I’d say Hello.” He flashed his most charming smile at the sophomore.
I used to be a big believer in fate.
I had this mentality that whatever decisions I made in the moment, wouldn't really matter because in the end everything would turn out right. I suppose that's still true, but I also learned that I've missed many opportunities thinking that I had all the time in the world. I considered how we have to take things into our own hands to make what we want happen for us and to achieve whatever goals we set for ourselves, because nothing is ever given, especially if it's something we really want. Although, I still think that a part of fate's role is having it guide our decisions to let us know when we're ready to do so. Maybe I'm not going to take this chance at the moment, but if it's really meant to be, then another opportunity will arise once again. If there ever is a right time, I'll be ready and all that's meant to be will eventually happen, if not then I'll know it was my choice to decline the offer and that it really wasn't something I needed in my life.
