MAYA IS SO DELIGHTED BY KAORUKO BEING A BRAT AND I CAN’T STOP LAUGHING
Well that took an unexpected turn! Is the next ep legit just called “Daiba Nana” omg
That was a great one! It really turned me around on Futaba and Kaoruko, by turning them around. Their relationship had long kinda bugged me as, like “you guys this is not sustainable” but they’re finally on the same page and I’m so happy for them!
Also, even though this was a Futaba and Kaoruko episode, we gotta give a serious shout out to Claudine and Maya, especially Claudine, who was really pulling more than her weight today. She’s a really, really good friend, and I appreciate her, and Futaba sending her a gift at the end made my tiny heart grow three times its size~
We’re also officially halfway through the series now, having got to the end of episode six, which is kind of wild! I keep feeling like I’m just starting this funky journey, possibly because Utena was four times as long... I’m really loving this! And it looks like next episode might tilt us in a funny direction... I’ve been wondering a lot about Nana lately, so her getting a focus ep is an exciting prospect.
See y’all next weekend!
They got their EP special too I’m so happy!!!
good Futaba appreciate your Frenchwoman
...
Kaoruko is that a pile of apology candy you’re doin’ great sweetie keep it up
(also I hadn’t really noticed before this episode that Futaba has a metric shitload of darumas. that’s cute.)
WHAT
Carnival music and Nana hanging out with Giraffe Fucker and??? Being kind of threatening/eerie??? WHAT WHAT????
...well, that’s a fair point, especially given how (as I said to someone on discord who asked why I thought Kaoruko managed to act well, here, when she’d apparently been lacking before) a lot of Kaoruko’s problem is just assuming she’s the best without working for it. She had something really at stake, here, so she was putting some genuine effort in. If Futaba’s work ethic can inspire her rather than make her jealous, they’ll be a hell of a team.
