2. What were their family values?

OOH THIS IS A GOOD ONE...Revyl's upbringing was mainly in the court so its a little. Fucked???? The sect it was in valued unique displays of violence and cruelty above all else, so your worth was measured in your capacity for violence, which it unfortunately excelled at due to its stronger than usual magic. even early on though, it had doubts about whether the suffering it wqs inflicting on dreamers was really better than the isolation it endured during its brief time in the Grove. Eventually when Zaara rescued it and Revyl joined her pirate crew, it started to learn that it had worth beyond its ability to cause harm, but that didn't mean it should ever let its guard down. Zaara taught it to surround itself with good people, wherever it could find them, and hit back at whoever would cause it or its loved ones harm.

Irene is so so so hardcore dedicated to the virtues of ventaris tablet that its. Detrimental to her-

Her strongest belief is that the Pale Tree is the greatest source of good in the world, and that by spreading and living by the virtues of Ventari's tablet she will lead a good life and fuffill the destiny set up for her by her Wyld Hunt. just. get back to her once he figures out what his wyld hunt is-

eventually she loosens up a Smidge but will always carry the ideas of discipline, bravery, and duty with her that the Wardens taught her, and the Vigil reinforced.

6.Did they have any pets?

They both do! Irene has a fern hound he's raised from birth named Belle, and Revyl has a little springer named Bonkers! (i dont have springer Yet but bonkers is definitely gonna be what revyl's is called)

13.What is the fondest memory of their past?

Revyl's fondest memories are either when Zaara rescued it from the Court (it was the first time anyone showed it real kindness, it had gotten so used to the doublespeak and theatrics of the court that it latched onto zaara as hard as it could and never let go) or when it beat Zaara's first mate Rika in a drinking contest (rika was pretty standoffish when revyl first joined the crew, and antagonized revyl a lot but he eventually came around when he realized how zaara basically saw it as her son, and tried to make up for it as best he could before revyl joined the whispers)

Irene's fondest memory is absolutely when Niamh sent him off on her journey to join the Vigil, seeing her mentor be proud of her taking her first steps into the world beyond caledon after she had proved her worth will stick with her forever. A close second is when he and Revyl were about to have their first kiss at the celebration of zhaitan's defeat...only for Taz to set off one of her experimental fireworks right next to them and startle Revyl so bad it blinked 50 feet away-

its so fun getting to major plot beats simultaneously in both of these games and having to figure out what All of my blorbos are doing during

like i know in the process of defeating titan and esp after mourning the scions getting Blasted ciel and alta are forming a genuine friendship rather than a boss/employee thing, they both have the echo, they both saw what the empire did to their friends, they both Felt noraxias fear as she got punted into the wall, both carried the scions bodies to their graves and with all the travelling done in between they learned "oh fuck i actually really really care about you and dont want you to die"

and for claw island id need to know more abt the vigil plotline to have a definite picture of what would go down but irene is definitely helping revyl cope with tybalts death and the way it now has to take on the responsibility of being a lightbringer without him in the immediate wake of the attack

also the closer i get to the end of lws1/Eventually heart of thorns i think. revyl as an inquest/nightmare court collaboration designer baby is becoming more and more of a solid idea in my mind. i really like the idea of the sect revyl was a part of needing the upper hand in some kind of power struggle against the other factions so they turn to the asura most willing to bend the rules to give them a mesmer superweapon in exchange for information about the dream the inquest wouldnt be able to access normally. also if im Right?? about what few hot spoilers ive heard it would explain how revyl is technically a soundless who is mostly immune to mordrem corruption rather than being turned straight away

(barely awakw waiting for my shift to start) i think im leaning too hard into the sad parts of revyl's backstory i need to remember that ultimately its just a Silly Guy. its playful its pleasure-seeking it wont do anything you cant convince it to do unless you can prove its Fun. it loves novelty and the whole reason it joined zaara's crew and later the whispers was primarily to see what races other than sylvari were like. i think it has a pretty skewed impression of what sylvari are like as a whole and only rlly fully trusts zaara and irene but that doesnt mean its outwardly like Hostile towards other sylvari...it has seen the Horrors but doesnt want/need anyone else to know about it and would much rather be fucking around juggling knives for its friends

2. plant? Yes he would absolutely do a bunch of research beforehand on the best pots and soil and lighting conditions and fertilizer and keep a diligent journal of what needs how much water and when

pet? Probably?? he dotes on his chocobo and carbuncle a Lot but if he had to like. cat/dogsit for someone he probably wouldnt wanna play with em much and would do the bare minimum of giving them food and water askdj

3. if youd have asked him this at the beginning of their time journeying together he wouldve said alta was the most insufferable insubordinate arrogant showoff dumbass he had ever had the misfortune of needing to deal with. but where the two of them are now in the story, he knows she's his stalwart companion, effortlessly funny and likeable, and he would put down his life for her the same way she's done countless times. (shes also one of the most attractive people ciel has ever seen he would walk on a bed of broken glass for a woman with broad shoulders as he should-)

26 effort!! he, of course, is immensely gifted and talented and gods perfect specimen but all of his potential would be worthless without the work that goes into his craft

30. MEAN. MEAN TO ME revyl will not ever accept that it could be forgiven. not without a lot of convincing and a lot of evidence to the contrary. it doesnt let itself think about this a lot, actually. the idea of being welcoked back to the grove, to other sylvari after what it did, of being able to live safely in the company of its people and be cherished for all of the things its done for tyria at large, of finally having its mother's approval, despite all of the blood on its hands hurts too much. it cant go back home, what would it even do there?? the idea of having a life in the grove is so foreign at this point that even if against all odds, it was welcomed back home, it probably wouldnt stay for very long. It would absolutely bring a Lot of peace to revyl if it was forgiven though. its isolation from all but a scant few sylvari is a constant, heavy weight around its neck
