Something that's so precious about tangled is that Rapunzel's dream was to see the floating lanterns, the lanterns that her parents lighted for her, hoping she'll find her way towards them. It wasn't just the beauty of lanterns in the sky that attracted her, it was the love of her parents guiding her.
