also my rewrite version of greg is wasian because i need to fix the problem of ghost thinking people of color were invented in 1995. i mean i get not making any for case 1 because of the time period its in and how thats a VERY hard thing to tackle properly as a white person without coming off the wrong way unless you're a historian or some shit (im not trying to sound bad please PLEASE dont kill me im autistic and i dont know how to word it right). and also how 2 out of the 4 main characters are related to eachother. but like. why not case 2. why are they all white.

Imma just plant this here for anyone who wants to change up some of their Dark Forest trainees to cats that actually make sense-

Consider making Icecloud a DF trainee, Toadstep too.

Toadstep is a lot simpler so I'll explain him first. He clearly looks up to Lionblaze. What do you think he'll do with the information that Lionblaze trained in the Dark Forest? He might be swayed to join to be as strong as his hero. As a bonus imagine what that will do to Lionblaze, knowing a cat wanted to be like him so much that they trained in hell to do so. Lionblaze may be able to talk him into leaving, he might not be able to with Toadstep having already been told that he'd try to make him stop "because he doesn't want anyone else to be as good as him".

As for Icecloud consider the following: she's the only one of the DustFern she-kits to make it to apprenticehood let alone become a warrior. Larchkit and Hollykit died tragically young. She could be the spoiled little princess with parents and big brothers who will happily beat you up but that's not how she's growing up, she's growing up telling her family she's not made of dandelion fluff, that she's not Hollykit and Larchkit and complaining that Foxkit gets to do all the fun stuff like playing with the older kits while she has to stay in the nursery because they might hurt her. Maybe she joins as an apprentice after blowing up at Dustpelt for telling her sparing partner to be gentle with her where she's promised that no one will go easy on her here, maybe she joins after a patrol on the border with Spiderleg and Birchfall turns sour where they tell her to go get help when she wasn't the fastest one on patrol (maybe Lionblaze can witness this and wonder "Why aren't they sending Examplefoot? They're faster than her and we need Icecloud!") and it's revealed later that even with her full name they still see her as something fragile- someone in need of protection instead of an equal who's an amazing fighter. So of course The Place of No Stars whispers in her ear that she won't need her family going forward if she sides with them, that she'll finally be free of the coddling and be the strong and respected warrior she deserves to be.

Plus imagine the aftermath for Icecloud if you keep Ferncloud and Foxleap's death the same.

They'd probably make for better trainees than Birchfall and Thornclaw that feel more connected to the narrative.

ok so minor question for the acotar rewrite, bc it’s been bugging me. you know how in the books they mix modern and medieval fashion, and in most cases, the female characters look like they’re in prom dresses a lot of the time? will you make the fashion suit the “time period” (I know it’s fantasy but I couldn’t think of another word for it lol)? I ask this bc I was trying to draw the sisters last night and good god it was difficult lmao

Did you read my mind? Because last night I was watching a bunch of YouTubers who recreate historical clothing as inspiration, so I’m like lowkey dying to talk about this.

The answer is, for the most part, yes. I imagine most of the courts + Hiburn as having the fashion of a certain time, but I have definitely taken a few fantasy liberties in certain places (especially in the fact that I have blended a lot of time periods together for the fashion and aesthetic), so I’d say I’ve loosely based the fashion of the world on these times.

I imagine the spring and autumn courts to have late 1700s fashion, the only differences being in what the trends of the countries they’re inspired by were at the time.

Hiburn is kinda 1500s English.

The night court has some Viking influences, but otherwise I don’t 100% have a specific time period inspo tied down yet.

And I imagine the mortal realm (at least where Fey//re lives) having regency era fashion, but more like how it’s portrayed in Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. (Which is to say, very historically inaccurate, but it’s one of the liberties I’ve taken.)

And then for the rest of the locations, I have images in my head of their fashions, but I have yet to research them a lot and figure out what time periods I’m thinking of, so once I nail that stuff down, I’ll probably reblog this with the new info.

my redesign of the storytellers + my spoilersona (since spoilers was ghost's self insert so i made a self insert of myself)

the storytellers are all vague animal hybrids, specifically the components of the mythological chimera, with ray being the lion, evelynn being the snake, and nathan being the goat. statikitty is also a mythological animal, being a sphinx

Rewrite Rambles! So, I can’t be bothered to find out who the other leaders were when SkyClan was driven out but I have a bunch of names saved from field guides, maybe one of them was picked by coincidence but this is not the point of this ramble. I want a lot of Dark Forest cats so an idea popped into my head while changing the plans for who gives Leafstar lives. I am going to steal the “the leaders who drove out SkyClan give Leafstar some lives as a late apology for destroying SkyClan” HOWEVER ThunderClan’s leader won’t be able to make an appearance for she’s trapped in the Place of No Stars for ensuring her clan survived. StarClan was angry that by the end of this leader’s lives, there was no SkyClan and they wanted someone to blame because they had no control over twolegs, and what do you know, they had someone to blame right in front of them. The leader was eventually corrupted by Dark Forest and remains eternally bitter for being punished for what was needed for ThunderClan to survive, as though it were only her fault there wasn’t a SkyClan on their border anymore.

Headcanon - Not sure if this counts under headcanon but damnit I saw the wiki and really gotta disagree here with the sprite for Brookkit (seen below, ID: black kitten laying on its belly looking to the left, it has white toes, a tiny white spot on top of its muzzle, a tiny white spot just on its upper lip, a white belly and pale green eyes)

I REFUSE to believe that he’s not mostly white.

in your rewrite, do you think you would make the high fae look less human, rather than like, conventionally attractive people with pointy ears?

Yes and no. Depends on which way I decide to cement my world building in. I have a few different ideas for their “origin” so to speak, and one of them is this: Originally there were just humans and the “Lesser Fae” (aka just creatures that lived amongst the humans). They just coexisted until some humans found the Cauldron and decided they weren’t good enough as is, and turned themselves into the first High Fae, then messed things up and took control and all that fun stuff. (Sarcasm, the original high Fae were power hungry assholes.) And so they’d look like humans, because they basically are.

That being said, if I do go with this idea, I plan on emphasizing the abnormal aspects of the high Fae (like the weirdly long limbs and glow of power, etc..), especially when Fey/re is first adjusting to being high Fae herself.
