”I say we put things back to how they were but for the betterment of all mutants I say. The homo sapiens keep breaking the world and I won’t be dictated to by another hairless ape much longer.”

“Lead my kind into salvation. I have seen enough of my people die at the hands of other who claim to want to save us. Never again.”

“Did I stutter?”

“Let us rephrase that shall we? Would I work with them to ensure the safety of mutants? Of course. Would I step in to save them? Maybe. Would I care if they became collateral damage? Hardly. When it comes to moles like SHIELD and the government, it is best to get what you want from them and then cut them off at the knees.”

“I have seen enough mutants die. I have seen enough children die. I have stood amongst corpses of my people. Never again.”

"perfectly fine. my physical health is intact, nor have i sustained any sort of injuries after these events occurred. i see no need for your inquiry about how i am feeling mentally. obviously there is nothing wrong.”

“considering this was not the location i was in prior to being displaced, i have been placed in a random apartment. i’m not pleased by the circumstances, and the area is hardly up to my standards. i would much prefer returning to the manor in gotham as has been my home for numerous years now. besides, that is where i am needed in order to protect the city and have access to other objects and technology that are necessary.”

”obviously the original mission to stop this thanos failed, which tells me that the fools who attempted it before had no clue what they were doing. clearly we need to rewrite the entire story and start fresh. investigate where the initial plan went and pinpoint where it went wrong. given that i am now here, this should be a simple feat.”

What will you DO about the situation at hand?

”offer my obvious expertise on a matter such as this. it is hardly the first time i have helped saved the planet as a whole. evidently, these fools need all the help they can receive.” 

Is there anything that you think needs to be done?

“we need to stop dilly dallying and put some sort of plan into motion. or at the very least start making the necessary preparations for a plan. nothing is going to get done otherwise. given we have a second chance to stop this thanos, it should not be wasted.”

“hardly. i do not trust government agencies or this shield to do what is necessary to get the job done. i work with my family, or the teen titans.”

“It’s the cheapest motel that I could find in New York. Sometimes a bullet comes through the wall but I know that’s just because the person who fired the gun is pathetic and missed whoever they meant to shoot. I think mostly thieves and criminals stay here but there’s no other option for me right now.”

“Why is Thanos my problem? I’m not even from this universe. Find someone else to help you.”

“I killed my handler in my world but this place is something completely new. Colt is no doubt alive somewhere and the thought of seeing him terrifies me. It’s one of only things that could possibly leave me shaken and unable to move. He won’t recognize me but I’m afraid of what will happen if I do see him again. Do I have trigger words? Why haven’t they ever used them? I’m scared.”

“I’m shocking great. Lyla already did my daily bio reading. Apparently I’ve been exerting myself but what else is new? I’m stuck eighty-seven years in the past and anyone would be stressed.”

“I’m currently sharing an apartment with Scott Lang. It’s better than living along and definitely better than the shitty motel room I was staying in when I arrived. There was bullet holes in the door and I wasn’t sleeping well on that stiff mattress. It’s nice having company and Scott is a good guy. It’s nice having a space of my own . . . and I told him about my secret too.”

“I think getting everyone back to their respective timelines should be one of the goals at when this is all said and done. Who is Thanos? Shock. Why is there always another supervillain?”

“Since I’m stuck here I’ll help do the right thing or whatever.”

“My main priority since getting trapped here is trying to figure out how to build something useful out of this ancient technology. Lyla has been a great help on this journey the last few weeks. She’s my assistant . . . a holographic artificial intelligence.”

marvel,  ya  done  messed  with  his  character  and  gave  him  an  ending  that  wasn’t  steve  rogers  at  all.  so,  what  happened  ?  at  the  end  when  steve  needed  to  go  back  and  return  all  the  infinity  stones  he  gave  sam  his  shield  to  keep  an  eye  on  it.  why ?  because  right  before  cap  went  through  the  time  machine  he  noticed  something,  a  glitch.  something  was  off  but  someone  had  to  do  it  before  it  was  too  late.  so  this  is  where  the  comics  come  in,  after  returning  the  infinity  stones  steve  got  stuck  in  time.

How are you feeling? Physically and mentally.

Physically, I am just as well as I was a week ago, in 1949, though it seems I have replaced a much older version of myself. Mentally, it’s a lot to take in... I am suddenly in the future, surrounded by technology right out of Howard’s wildest dreams, S.H.I.E.L.D. seems now larger than life and the news casually mention Captain America’s latest activities. It seems I have a lot to learn.

Where are you living? The same place you lived in 2012, or displaced to a random apartment? Explain to the best of your ability.

When I appeared here, I was in the living room of an apartment I’ve never seen, but that seems to belong to my 2012 self. The pictures, letters and files I found certainly indicate so. With some quick research, I have learned that I was retired from S.H.I.E.L.D. and on my way to a retirement home, since I was ill, but I hadn’t moved out yet. I didn’t store a lot of official documents at home, which seems wise, but that also means I can’t get a full understanding of the major events of my career past 1949, or of the world in general, just from what I found here. If that is an advantage or not, I still can’t tell.

What do YOU think we should do about the situation at hand? Try to go back home? The original mission of stopping Thanos? Rewrite the entire story?

You see, until a few days ago, I had never heard of Thanos, or even the Avengers. To me, it hasn’t been that long since the war ended. I haven’t learned all about the rest of my life yet, but it seems that the work Howard and I did with S.H.I.E.L.D. over the decades truly mattered, maybe even more than we expected. It still has repercussions to this day, good or bad, and I do need to go back to my own time and continue what I started. 

That being said, it is obvious that I can’t retrace the same steps once I have this knowledge of the future, even if I wished to, so the best I can do is learn from this time and try to do better, hoping that the very fact that I am here right now hasn’t already made a major mess in the timeline. The same goes for everyone else involved, even if most people seem to be travelling through time in the opposite direction. 

Now, while we don’t know what is causing this situation, we must keep fighting whatever evil forces are threatening the universe, including the bloody alien who erased half of all living beings. I do not have enough information to give you a strong opinion on how to do so, but I will not cross my arms while so many are in danger.

What will you DO about the situation at hand?

I will get informed, and then get to work, however I can.

Is there anything that you think needs to be done?

Oh, there is a lot! I need to urgently have a few conversations and discover where everyone stands, who is involved and who we must protect. Just the science of all of this is already a lot to wrap my head around, but I am familiar with the impossible.

If need be, would you be willing to team up with the government and SHEILD to recoup and help the situation at hand?

First, I would like to find out what S.H.I.E.L.D. has become. After that, yes, let’s say I am willing to work with trustworthy organizations that are able to advance the investigations, if they prove to be that. Same goes for the government. 

What are your worries?

Well, the fact that we are all here has already changed history, hasn’t it? Even if I am taken back to my time in the next second, I know things now that wouldn’t allow me to live the same life, and things that make me able to change a lot about the following decades. That on itself poses a great risk.

Beyond that, the future comes with a lot of grief, doesn’t it? The tragedies I have learned about are immeasurable. I am worried that we might make them even worse somehow. It’s a lose-lose situation. If we do nothing, we’re doomed. If we take action, we might break existence. Still, as I said, I am not one to just watch when a situation gets serious. We better hope for the best, even if that rarely comes true.

What do you think are the pros about this situation?

I won’t lie, it is nice to see all this, what the future looks like. It’s even nicer to get a chance to see some familiar faces. I can’t be so selfish to think that some personal fullfilment is truly a pro of such tragic events.

“what, like i should actually share?? please, i’m doing perfectly fine both physically and mentally. coming back from the dead is nothing for me. thanos clearly should have expected otherwise.”

“i am, unfortunately, back on midgard even if that was the end goal with the loss of asgard. at the moment i’m staying in my own apartment currently, which i prefer compared to sharing quarters with anyone else.” 

what do you think we should do about the situation at hand? try to go back home? the original mission of stopping thanos? rewrite the entire story?

“i say rewrite the entire story. that’s all this is, is it not?? merely a story being played out, one we have already written. we have the tools to rewrite it, so we should use those tools.”

what will you do about the situation at hand?

“i suppose i’ll have to work with some people that absolutely despise me, not that i can blame them all. i’m sure most of them still think i’m some terrible villain of the sorts. as much as i might despise working with others, i’d do anything to take down that bastard.”

“besides killing thanos and his black order?? no.”

i think we need to figure shit out and make sure we’re safe. we messed with time and thats never good. something needs to be figured out.

of course. helping people is the whole reason i put on this suit every day. i prefer working with the avengers or you know, people i know aren’t going to stab us in the back but.
