I don't mean to alarm anyone, but I have finished a major part of this costume???
At long last, tonight was the night of the vampire masquerade, and I finished my costume just in time! (I literally woke up and started sewing this morning after 4 hours of sleep).
Didn't do a whole lot sewing wise today as I spent most of the day with a migraine, but!! with a little help from @jackironsides I did get some pieces together!
(please appreciate this seam and how outgrown my nails are bc I forgot to take pics of the interesting things)
tomorrow is boning channels, and I'm delighted to announce when I made my hobbit corset last year (with no pattern or prior experience) I made the boning channels correctly 😌
Hi hello it's your friendly neighbourhood disaster here to introduce you all to my current project: Victorian vampire costume (due Oct 12 for a masquerade)
this is the main pattern I'm using and I've never sewn anything with a pattern before, and as an added bonus, I'm hand stitching the whole thing bc I broke my sewing machine 😌
tonight's project is the bows for the sleeves, and so far they're turning out okay??
The ruff is officially in one piece! (well, the base is)
next step is to stitch the frame on and cut out the outer fabric ✌️
didn't get as much done today as I had hoped for, but I did get the trim completed on the upper back, and that piece is finished!
tomorrow I will have the fun of struggling with twill tape for the first time 😅😅
I have said this a lot recently, but I think tomorrow I will finally finish the polonaise! Had an issue with the sleeves, but it should be an easy fix, and then I can start on the skirt 🎉
Don't have any updated pics bc I was fighting the ruff most of today, so have some pictures of my assistant
Getting sick, but I got a lot done today!! The polonaise is nearly wearable!
