1)Frigga was the child of a vampire of old, one as decadent as he wasruthless. For centuries she was a solitary creature. A wanderer whowashing from one continent to the next, never content to stayanywhere for long until she met the one who was to be her true mate.Some say she was the one who sired him. When she returned to hersire’s territory, it was with an ambitious, hungry vamp named Odin ather side. Together with her new mate, Frigga overthrew her sire andgifted her new love with a realm the two of them brought togreatness.
2)Though Odin sired him, Frigga chose Thor. She found her to-be goldenchild one day in a rainstorm, face turned up in the rain as the skyrumbled with thunder cracked open with lightning. When he saw herwatching him, he smiled a smile that reminded her so much of the sunhe knew she had to have him. When a sudden burst of lightningoverhead made her jump, he immediately shrugged off his jacket andoffered it to her to shelter under, telling her storms never botheredhim. Frigga took the jacket with a smile and invited him to accompanyher a nearby cafe, so she could repay his kindness with coffee. Neverone to refuse a beautiful woman’s smile in life or death, Thor wentwith her. She made sure Odin was waiting nearby when Thor finishedhis coffee and left Frigga’s company. A perfect heir for her mate. Aperfect addition for her family.
3)Though he calls him his son, Odin did not sire Loki. Loki was siredby Laufey, a rival of Odin’s. Laufey believed any meant to be avampire needed no guidance, no training, no tempering. Confused andoverwhelmed by his new state of being, as well as his constanthunger, Loki was abandoned by Laufey and his clan after only a fewdays. Left to fend for himself, Loki was prone to fits ofuncontrolled violence while trying to satisfy his hunger pangs. Whenhe wasn’t making noisy messes - and attracting far too much attention- he was huddled in dark corners, shivering and afraid. This is whereOdin found him, following the stories of the young vamp making amess. Attracting so much attention to their kind is frowned upon, atleast in Odin’s opinion. Odin can’t say why he opted to take Lokiinto his family rather than destroy him. Perhaps it was Frigga’slonging for a new child, perhaps as a companion for Thor. Perhaps itwas Odin who wanted another child. As the years passed, the confusionand fear that ruled Loki’s early days of being a vampire faded away.As did all memory of Laufey.
4) Odin’s children are temperamental creatures. All know this. Theyfuck as often as they fight. And they fight often. It’s wise to steerclear of them in either instance. Odin’s loyalists learned thisquickly. To try and side with one when they are in pitched battle ofwills is to unite them against any who would attack the other. But inthe arguments of others they will happily take opposing sides. Theyfuck other people when they chose to, but to try to bed one is tojust as easily invite the wrath of the other. No one is permitted tocome between them. Thor and Loki were made for one other.
4)Thor and Loki’s appetites prove to be vast, but their styles couldn’tbe more different. Thor hunts in the open, craving the brightness ofcrowded spaces. Bars, clubs, concerts. They shine like the stars toThor. He’ll feed in the open, surrounded by strangers and then gostraight on to the next. He’s never happier like this. By contrast,Loki loves the hunt. The nights spent choosing the perfect one.Stalking through quiet spaces. Coffee shops, small restaurants,theatres. Once he’s made a selection, he has to take his time.Observe his chosen’s habits, skulk along the edge of their vision,never there when they sense him and turn to look. He follows untilthe moment when his chosen becomes aware they are being stalked, thatdelicious quickening of the blood before he strikes.
Neitherof Odin’s sons ever walks away unsatisfied.
