I’m coming to terms with the fact that I low-key ship Rex/Anakin. Not because I think they’d ever have a passionate true love affair, but because they both have other huge, all consuming passions and commitments in their lives: the war and the vod'e, protecting their loved ones, saving as many people as they can. There isn’t room for anything else.
But they understand each other. They’re comfortable together, predictable, reassuring. A warm body after a long day. Someone to hold onto when they’ve just lost too many brothers. They don’t need to explain themselves, or talk about their feelings, or really say anything at all. Just breathe the same air. Just be alive, together, when everything around them is chaos and tragedy.
