Born and raised in Miami, Rey Jaffet has spent his life immersed in a variety of cultures, reflected in work that encompasses “elements of modern realism, contemporary, pop, and street art fused with urban influences.” Jaffet says his work portrays “misunderstanding, hardships, importance of family, individuality, and other poignant issues of the modern generation.” In 2017 Jaffet was across the continent in Seattle, Washington—one of a growing number of states where recreational use of cannabis has been legalized. Painted on the side of high-end marijuana retailer Diego Pellicer on 4th Ave in SoDo, the 20’ x 110’ work was also supported by leading cannabis information resource, Leafly. @reyjaff/ @leafly/ @diego.pellicer/
