TROS Visual Dictionary - An Investigation (Continues)
This is a continuation of my previous “TROS Visual Dictionary - An Investigation” and maybe my last in providing insight on claims made by others questionable content within the said Visual Dictionary.
Disclaimer: Apologies in advance for the quality of the photos since they're taken from my smartphone at a poorly lit section of Barnes & Noble.
Based on this text, it’s neither confirmed or denied if they are the Sith, but it's mostly a small gang of dark siders who practice the ways of the dark side in a way that they see fit not necessarily the same customs and traditions of the Sith.
The "Beskar" used in this ax is of Mandalorian origin. Not saying that the Knights of Ren are originally from the Mandalorian culture, but they do appear to be scavengers of various arsenal to project their ruthlessness to their opponents.
"Carib knows he should clean his teeth more often." Haha, at least there's some humor in this pro-dark-side-esque visual dictionary.
Yes, in the 4th sentence in the above image, one can see the words "increasingly isolated Rey." That's how Rey should be downplayed as. She's increasingly isolated that leads to end off where she first started that is, in TFA she's alone in the desert and at the end of TROS, she's alone again even with BB8 on her side.
Even though it's hard to read, but it goes to show this disconnect between the promotional and extended material and the final film. In this above image, it states that Rose developed a custom proton bomb and hyperdrive modifications for the Resistance. However, Rose Tico only had like about 1 minute plus of screentime in being basically a secretary position. Is that how Rose Tico should be respected? How about a scene where she is holding a briefing about the overview of the latest modifications to the Hyperdrive systems or maybe a mission briefing for a strike force? That's a better way to respect Rose Tico.
As mentioned in the prior investigation post into the TROS visual dictionary, the dark side factions are presented as an apex predator or something on top of the food chain as stated in the last sentence about how in actuality, the First Order is a massive force that's prepared to strike hard.
The Resistance = a discounted Rebel Alliance 2.0 facing challenges and having to pull every tooth and nail in mobilizing every resource available and any possible allies out there to help.
Continuing from above that the Resistance is just a run-down version of the Rebel Alliance. Instead of a lessons-learned, battle-hardened, professionally-trained special ops-type force, what we got is part of this trend in this visual dictionary of light side faction at the bottom of a totem pole and the dark side factions on top.
In conclusion, this TROS visual dictionary is presenting more of a grim narrative that the dark side and its negative connations of no hope and no family reunions are more ubiquitous and lasts longer than what the light side represents. Case in point, even though the Resistance won against the dark side forces of the First Order and the Sith Eternal, many good things were lost because of it. This includes the Skywalker family dying only for the last one, Ben Solo to die as well. This and along with the disjointed nonsense of TROS writing where it seems that dark side factions have more priority in their story development in contrast to those who are on the light side.
