Reylo in Legacy of Vadar/ROSI2
Reylos, it's been a minute, and we're eating again. This meal comes on the plates of Star Wars Legacy of Vader and Rise of Skywalker issue 2.
Star War Legacy of Vadar timeline
The story kicks off right after The Last Jedi (34 ABY), with Kylo Ren now Supreme Leader.
It leads into the events of The Rise of Skywalker.
Now admittedly the comic doesn't focus on Reylo because the comic book focuses on Kylo Ren ultimately exploring the personal connections that still follow him - tempting him to the light. However, as long as they're even mentioning them - I'm covering it. I wish Disney realized they have very few things going for them right now in the Star Wars universe but there is still massive passion when it comes to Reylo and I need them to have the intelligence to pursue this. Like even though Rey isn't highly featured in the comic..... she got a cover! They understand that there is a Reylo fanbase which is very active.... but choose not to feed us very often.
Reylo mentions in SW: LoV Here's the big one! Ahhhhhhh According to Marvel senior editor Mark Paniccia, the comic confirms Kylo’s romantic feelings toward Rey originated before The Rise of Skywalker, stating he “fell in love with another Force user named Rey, who subsequently rejected him”!!!!!!
“a surprising connection with the mysterious Rey forces him to reckon with what it truly means to be Vader’s heir”
In issue #1, after The Last Jedi, Kylo is haunted by visions of his past — including Rey, Luke, Leia, and Han. These appear as spectral overlays in his mind, reflecting his internal turmoil
While that may be it there - WE WIN!
Let's keep going! Now I will refer you to Mori Mole youtube account because she takes you through Reylo highlights through the different comic issues of SW:RoS. It's very difficult to get any screengrabs beyond a post or two.
I also don't know if I've just been dehydrated before or something but I've never noticed that Rey looks like Leia AND Padme.
There was this really cute interaction between the two where they insert dialogue that they left out the movie. Look I understand if they wanted to go the silent meaningful route but the fact that they allowed Ben to say one word and it was "Ouch" is stupid.
This was such a cute little moment - the fact that we lost Ben period - I'm still annoyed.
Like guys they're so cute! Them a little bickering dyad couple. And then devastating panel below.
Also, a reminder of what we've been denied. I do have hope for this future Rey movie. A little hope but hope. Considering the director is a raging feminist and I'm not sure about the hope of wooing Adam Driver back to the madness (pay him whatever he wants) but we the fans know what we need and it's Reylo.
But yes do check out Mori Mole's read through of the comics.
