Me getting up like “yo mutuals anyone wanna do an art commission u will also get the Google doc preview of the fic as long as u don’t judge me”
I’ve been trying (and failing) to finish projects. This is mostly because I write until I am bored and then never end up posting.
Anyway, here’s a recent section of a wip. Reyna/Leo, you will always be famous to me.
…
She cuffed him in the back of the head with her free hand, Jason stumbling a half step forward.
“You can cut that out, I find the male form repulsive.”
“Ow…” He rubbed at the spot she’d hit, glancing over warily. “I thought that because..never-mind, it’s stupid.”
He’d grown up with his praetors being in love with each other, intimate behind closed doors. So Reyna understood the logic, but she was still three years his senior and spent the last six on an island of all women. Jason Grace was many things at first look—like diplomatic and far too serious for a thirteen year old praetor— but attractive to her was not one of those things.
“I had a partner.” She said finally. “Before Rome.”
“You did?”
“She,” and how could Reyna even begin? She was rarely so forthcoming with her past, like many other legionnaires who chose to take Camp Jupiter as a fresh start. And Leorah was and would always be a hollow ache in her chest, one of the regrets bubbling under her flesh. “She was clever. And wickedly beautiful.”
“And this was when you worked for Circe? She let you date? I thought that she’d like, make you swear off romance or something.”
“It wasn’t really dating. And Circe cared about all of the sorceresses and women under her care, she wasn’t about to stop us from loving.”
“Oh. Was she a witch— your girlfriend?”
“She was a very good one. She had these knives, and would cut spells straight into the air with them, it was unlike anything I’ve seen before or since.” Reyna said. Not that that had saved Leorah in the end. It might’ve, if she hadn’t made her choices, if she’d decided to stay hiding when Blackbeard and his crew attacked and burned the island instead of looking for Hylla.
“What happened then?” He asked. “Why didn’t she come to New Rome with you?”
To that, she did not give Jason an answer.
Constantly making myself sick thinking about situations where Reyna and Leo could have met pre canon
