i'm watching the Wind Waker dub and finally came to the scene where Tetra's identity is revealed and i'm just. so angry about it. they lightened her skin, they took away her pirate clothes, they even changed her personality???? what's worse (no offense to the dub actress, she did her job very well) is that Tetra's voice changes as well, becoming all soft and ultra-feminine!! and then after, her movements are more graceful and dainty all of a sudden. it's like she became a completely different character!
this is the opposite of what happened to Princess Peach in the Mario movie. Peach is supposed to be stereotypically feminine and soft-spoken and demure, while Tetra is the one who is brash and tomboyish and tough! smh this is a prime example of "blorbo would NOT say/do that", and it's frustrating how it's the very creators themselves mischaracterizing these women.
anyways i paused my WW watch and i'm currently re-writing the reveal scene so that it's more in-character and Tetra's decision to stay and protect the Triforce of Wisdom is more believable. anyone who interacts with this post will be tagged when i post it :)
