i've found rey pretty hard to place honestly! same with all the new characters. i think i need to wait the trilogy out. what makes you think she's a slytherin?
Oh boy, this might take some digging in my Rey tag that just helped me reinforce my theory haha
Well, there was this post that talked about how trusting Rey was of those around her. Such as when she met BB-8 and then Finn and then Han. But it took a while for her to fully open up to both BB-8 and Finn. For example, with Finn, BB-8 tells her that Finn stole Poe’s jacket and then just goes and kicks his ass. Ten minutes later, she steals the Falcon and he’s the one manning the gun, showing that she trusts him. The thing with Slytherins are that they are just as loyal as Hufflepuffs, but only when it works for them. They are not disloyal, but they will find a reason to trust you.
Slytherins are all about rules. Like a mentioned above, Rey was 100% ready to kick Finn’s ass when BB-8 told her he stole it’s master’s jacket, and then 5 minutes later she steals the jacket right under Unkar Plut’s nose. For Slytherins, the rules of others do not matter, it is their inner rules that matter most. Rey will listen to Unkar with a set jaw because it is necessary to her survival, but she will also go against him when she and her friends are in danger.
And then you have to think of the Slytherin traits themselves: The house is traditionally home to students who exhibit such traits as cunning, resourcefulness, and ambition.
Resourcefulness is definitely a trait we see Rey exhibit, especially after being left to fend for herself for years since the age of what? 6? She needs to figure out her own portions, what parts she should sell/keep, and even when it came to BB-8, she chose starvation over selling BB-8. She obviously has a lot of ambition, but being stuck on a planet alone doesn’t allow her to really explore that. Cunning we don’t see as much, so I leave that to you haha
I am looking for a very specific post that I cannot find right now so I will update this when I find it haha. Anyways, that’s why I think she could be a Slytherin, but I agree, maybe we should wait for the whole trilogy to be released before making any decisions :)
Update: There is this post talking about her survival skills. And this one talking about her wrecking Finn and then stealing the Falcon
