Can't Take My Eyes Off of You - Femme!Eruri
"I'm hungry," Nanaba states, and it's more an imperative than a declaration.
Erwin recognizes the subtle petulance in her tone and smirks knowingly. "I swear, you're like a broken record," she laughs. "You always say that."
"It's always true," Nanaba deadpans, and Erwin shakes her head. Nanaba is tall and lanky, and somehow manages to eat her weight in junk food on the regular, and Erwin is constantly in awe of her roommate's preposterous metabolism.
"I was actually just on my way to my uncle's restaurant," Erwin informs her lightly. "You know, the Old Hollywood-themed restaurant I keep telling you about? I go there at least once a week for dinner. It's pretty decent. Do you maybe want to go there? I'm fairly sure we can scam some free burgers or something."
Nanaba's stomach growls as if on cue, and she touches a willowy hand to it. "Stomach says 'yes.'"
"Alright," Erwin says with a satisfied smile, and hooks an arm in Nanaba's slender one and the pair of them set out in the direction of the restaurant.
Fifteen blocks and half an hour later, the two blondes narrowly avoid a gaggle of spoiled children spilling out the front doors and slip inside to the glorious air-conditioned interior. Decorated to an uncanny and completely intentional likeness of Sardi's, the Paramount Cafe is filled to capacity (as to be expected on a Friday evening for such destination sites in this town), and Erwin's usual ally Hange is nowhere to be seen.
"Who are you looking for?" Nanaba asks after a fair few moments of watching Erwin crane her neck to see over the crowd.
"Hange," Erwin murmurs.
"Who's that?"
"She's the manager," Erwin explains, brows furrowing in consternation. "She's the one who always takes care of the check for me. I feel bad asking anyone else since I don't really know the servers very well. I don't think it would go over well if I just start asking them for free food. I mean, if worse comes to worst, I'll just pick up the tab since I promised you free food ..."
Erwin wonders just how much cash she actually has on her and worries it might not be enough for dinner and tip. Surveying the room one last time, Erwin catches sight of an apathetic-eyed raven making her way down the aisle in their direction, and waves her down as she walks by. "Hey!" she calls out brightly, trying to be as pleasant as possible. "Levi, isn't it? I don't know if you remember me, but I'm Mr Zackley's niece? Hange usually hooks me up with food, but I don't see her around, and I was wondering if you could possibly take care of us today ...?"
She feels so unbelievably uncomfortable asking that she screws her face into a most unattractive grimace before breaking into a resplendent smile at the revelation that hits her. "Oh wow, you're wearing a dress!" she exclaims, eyes bright with the pleasant surprise. "You look amazing in it!"
