Sensation is already starting to show up in my new penis! I can feel touch a little bit on large areas of my penis!!!! (With some sensation transferring to my left thigh which I guess makes sense since that’s where they got the nerve). I was worried it would take months to feel anything and I have proof the nerve hookup worked in days! Medical science is so fucking cool! They built me an entire freaking penis out of my own body!

with phalloplasty, if the donor site is in the arm/wrist is there any risk of loss of sensation or movement in the hand/wrist? the career im getting into is like graphic design/illustration so i cant risk my right hand i need to draw but i also cant risk my left playing guitar and other instruments. is this a valid reason to request a different donor site like the leg or are my worries unfounded?

yes, loss of sensation, numbness, loss of motion, and chronic swelling are all complications that can come as a result of RFF (forearm) phalloplasty site.  They can be managed by medical and further surgical treatments, but it’s something to take into consideration with regards to choice of site.  Your surgeon can go over these complication risks but it’s important to know that it is possible.

56 days to go

My LOA got signed by Dr. Watt today, all that’s left is for insurance to sign it which should happen tomorrow I think. I almost started crying on my way home from work.

I was checking out the VRBO place where we’re staying online recently and I’m getting excited for it. It’s near the ocean, a big park, and two different streets with shops and stuff. It’s also near the train line to downtown and the hospital.

Electrolysis is coming along. I definitely won’t be hairless before surgery, especially since I’m planning to stop almost a month in advance to let my arm heal. I’m down to super blond hairs in my urethra area, we’re going to try dying them and this follicle enhancer stuff so hopefully my electrolygist can see them.

I’ve also been working out a bunch and trying to eat healthier so I’ll be in better health for surgery and hopefully minimize my complications.

good news!

Quick update: 1) I have legally changed my name, 2) my insurance company agreed to reimburse me for electrolysis, and 3) I have a surgery date! very early 2019. I don’t want to post the specific date. But I am very excited.

And I’m excited about my excitement, considering I wasn’t sure how I’d feel when I actually got a date. It feels real now, concrete. And my excitement makes me feel like this is the right thing for me to do.

Relief

Damn I feel good. Peeing is getting allot smoother, allot less pushing and allot more ease. So here are a few notes just on things I just jotted down.

1. Less blood

2. Less pressure around the balls area & pelvic area

3. Stiches are healing

4. My scrotum area that had a Y shaped stiches line is closing up really great!

5. Dime sized fistula closed up behind my scrotum

6. My head the stiches in the very tip are healing and disintegrating.

7. Learning the milking technique really well

8. Got really tired today! For some reason... 12.1.17

I am still alive :P

So I am 3 weeks post up right now. I have been home since the 28th of November but I haven’t had much energy and couldn’t type very well but I am working on a post describing my time in hospital. It will be a long post so bear with me. I will also do a separate 3 week post op update detailing my first week at home. I will upload both sometime this week so look out for that. For now I just want to say I am alive and well, surgery went well and so far I only had some minor complications that were easily fixed so I cant complain!
