in august 1961, jack and bobby spend time at hyannis port with their father. joe is nearly 73, and growing increasingly frail. jack & bobby seem to recognize the poignancy of the moment as they pause to take photographs with their father.

a few months after that visit, joe suffers a massive stroke. it leaves him permanently incapacitated and unable to speak. in the years to come, on each presidential visits to hyannis port, jack will spend private time with his father.
