Intimacy, Talent, Quirk, Sadness

Intimacy : how do they feel about intimate gestures/actions? have they ever been intimate with anyone before?

He’s not fussed either way when it comes to intmacy but he’s not really an intimate person to begin with. He would rather pull pranks then show any interest or feelings towards the females. However there are times with certain people (cough) where he may show a more intimate side to him. flirting and teasing whenever he has the chance too. Not to say that he doesn’t do it with other people - but its usually for his own amusement and easing purposes. 

Talent : what is your character’s unique talent? e.g : can touch the top of their heads with their toes, or can lick their elbows, or perhaps something greater?

His ability to climb tree’s is probably a talent of his. And the fact that he can climb them with ease before proceeding to hang upside down out of them like a monkey. He can also touch his nose with his tongue, one of his favourite party tricks especially when he was a child - weirding out and fascinating other children with his weird talent. 

Quirk : is there any odd quirk your character has?

Junhong’s most obvious quirk would be his bright red hair. He says that its quite fitting towards his personality and also fits well with his role as a fire bender. However it has proven to get him in a lot of trouble as it stands out so much - and creating a disguise is hard to do with his hair. Another quirk of his would be his pranks - he loves to get into all sorts of trouble even if he gets punished later for it.

Sadness : have they experienced grief? from what? if they haven’t, what do you think will cause it?

now there was something he disagreed with. this was the kind of attitude he left behind in surya; his word, here, was binding, and at that he had to shake his head.

“there is much to be said about promises, your highness, but i value them greatly.” there was an unexpected seriousness in a usually warm tone, but it disappeared quickly as he plucked a corked vial with a fancy label around the thin thing. “and i promise that this is one worth keeping: buy this, and perhaps you can get one for half the price~”

♕~ The formal address did not settle well with her; it did not feel right to the point that it irked her off for reasons that do not make sense to her at all. 

She studied the man and waited for something to click in her head, like match stick illuminating a flame, but it never came to her-- only leaving the princess feeling around in the darkness of not knowing and uncertainty. “Are perfumes a specialty here?” The question was more of formality as she continued trying to grasp at the nothing that was insistent on being a something. “Half the price? That seems almost absurd for a bottle like this.”

here he was: a friend, but no longer one he remembered, as odd and mismatched and fragmented his memory had become. this was a face he thought he would see, a scent he faintly remembered (though, as all things were, had been polluted by time) though not while he was in this position, behind a counter and his palms around his hourly cup of tea, trembling slightly as he swallowed thickly, and quickly pulled up his mask; thankfully, he had only looked over his shoulder, and half-turned so that the unmarred side of his face was shown.

“a-ah. i apologise. i thought it was someone i knew.” the lie was easy, practiced. there were suryans who had come and gone and some of them he knew, or had heard of. the group of people who belonged to the latter almost often had him wishing for something to calm him down. at least now, he had it, though he couldn’t drink it for as long as the mask obstructed him from doing so.

“was there anything you were looking for, sir? a scent for yourself, perhaps…or a present for someone important?”

“For a moment, I thought perhaps my reputations precedes me.” Shin chuckled, shaking his head as he browsed the wares. “I’m here for a present for someone important who had drifted far apart from me. I heard you’re a near magician with scent, could there be a gift to tell her of my unwavering determination for her? If I may so shyly ask.”

The general looked towards the merchant with a kind smile on his face, anticipation evident within his eyes. His fingers reached towards a fabric band on his wrist that was stained dirty, once colorful colors were faded, dusted with grime, stained with blood. In fact, threads seemingly were frayed. Despite it’s appearance however, it seemed very well taken care of, if not, such a delicate band would have long perished. 

“She is someone I had grown up with, and I’ve promised to marry her. The king of Surya had agreed to the wedding, however...” Shin chuckled bitterly. “It seems like the time I had spent away formed a gap between us, perhaps it might be the blood staining my hands, but she shy away from my touches now and it hurts.” 

Blinking, Shin shook his head and laughed. “I apologize. Somehow you give me a very comfortable presence, almost as if I’ve met you before at some point in my life. However, I’m quite aware this is our first meeting, Merchant.”

“What’s wrong? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”

Shin felt tears welling in his eyes, his vision blurring.

There were twitches in his face, as he struggled to maintain his composure. 

“You look exactly like I thought you would grown up.” He croaked, his voice failing him in the moment.

His childhood. Their childhood. The promise of becoming great together. The reason why Shin did not hate his role in the military that much. They had declared a dream together. However, Shin had been the one who walked that lonely road to achieve their dream. 

He embraced his friend, laughter blossoming from the depths of his heart. A moment that rivaled the king’s acceptance for him to wed Ayaka.

Then... He woke up.

“What’s wrong? You look like you’ve seen a ghost.”

His eyes shift from the others face, he looks to the side. Words swimming around in his mind, fighting to be the first to roll from his tongue. However they don’t and for a moment there is nothing but silence where he thinks of the best thing to say. “You would too, if you saw someone before you who you were told was dead.” 

He can’t really comprehend the familiar person stood before him. He was so young when everything had happened and the feeling of heartache soon resides within him. Biting his lip, he fights the urge to ask so many questions and rather, simply just looks at him. He looks familiar but at the same time he looks different. Looks like someone he had never known. A stranger. But thats not the truth and even he knows that. Letting a sigh roll of his lips he finally plucks up the courage to ask something he probably shouldn’t. “What happened to you?” his voice for once is filled with anxiety and he can’t help but clench his hands into fists of anger. Not towards him, but their family, and the blatant lie that he had been told all those years ago.

Its almost too much for him, and he can feel the sensation of dizziness filling his mind, extending his arm to stable himself on something. His eyes once again not gazing at the other.

there’s no remedy for memory.

your face is like a melody / it won’t leave my head

she rode on her way in a carriage at midday, sent away by the queen with a message to be delivered, another lady-in-waiting, and a small guard of ten. the trip across the continent was just as she remembered: long and winding and endless, and it would have been tiring and uncomfortable if not for the makeshift bed of fur and cloth and goose feather down pillows inside the car,

and it would have been an absolute bore if her mind wasn’t completely stirred.

quite simply, she was restless.

eight months. it had been eight months since their last correspondence, and approximately no hours had passed since she last thought of him. she didn’t think of him in the romantic way people missed loved ones who left momentarily, or for months, or years. she didn’t think of him in the idealistic way poets and writers thought of faraway figures for their musings.

she thought of him like this: like the thin cloud of fog that never leaves mountain tops, like the sheet of black smoke always waiting by a fire, like nothing to be forgotten, like nothing to be ignored; like little flames at the back of her mind, waiting at her throat, holding her fingertips.

and although she hadn’t sprayed on the perfume he’d made, the scent of it was in every breath she took.

now her second day in duur found her like this: through with the day’s meetings and with hours left to spare before sundown; a pretty green dress painting town pavements---still telling herself she had no ulterior motives whatsoever for volunteering to come here even as she stood in the doorway of a shop she’d only seen once before,

even as she warily reached for the doorknob to let herself in,

even as she met the pair of brown eyes that had haunted her dreams for weeks, and months, and years.

RG Headcanons 1

Welter: What subject will they never fully understand?

Hikari likes to immerse herself in books in which she is able to expose herself to a wide array of topics. When she reads, she usually picks topics at random and only decides to read further about the subject when it catches her interest. Therefore, know she is knowledgeable on various topics, it’s usually just on a need-to-know basis. The subjects she’s currently most interest in are astronomy and medicine though she greatly enjoys reading novels.

“I wish I could hate you.”

Through misted over eyes, a trembling lip soon to follow, Sojin hates that she can’t keep it all together.

If it had been any other person, shedding a tear and revealing her true feelings would be far from the actions she’d take. It takes a lot more to hurt her than empty words, ones chosen in hopes of cutting through a rock hard resolve and stubborn will, yet he can do just that with a simple phrase. One she would never have thought him to say, to her no less, and her heart begins to shred. Sojin had not seen this coming, but from the depths of her sorrow, she knows he isn’t being as truthful as he wills himself to be.

She simply stands there, arms dangling at her sides as she urges her tears to stay in place. She won’t shed tears over something that just couldn’t be real, wasn’t the truth she was living and the lie he was trying to hide behind.

He couldn’t hide, she wouldn’t let him.

“I wish I could hate you,” he says, words low in his chest, as if the very action of them being spoken was a painful thing.

She can feel the tremors radiating off of him from her spot, rooted firmly right before him. Her hand moves on impulse, invading the space she knew was only reserved for her, fingertips alive with gentle touches as they rest upon his discolored cheek. Her thumb works in small patterns, as if to erase the last few seconds of their lives and return to the strong glances and warm embraces.

“Mikhail, you don’t mean that,” She strains, words strong but voice barely there.

“Sojin, I…”

“You don’t. I know you don’t,” her eyes come to life then, a new feeling swirling in the depths of her being as she moves even closer. She’s caught it from him, eyes to intense with thoughts and frustrations she couldn’t possibly fathom without his agreement, and it come right back to that one little word: love. Sojin is in love with the man standing before her, and he feels the same. “If you did, you wouldn’t be here…”

Their foreheads come together, as they have so many times in the past, and Sojin feels at home. No other place had ever made her feel this safe, the way his arms did, wrapped around her so securely she felt he’d never let her leave his side again. She’d prefer it that way.

“Can’t I ever be right?” She hears faintly, but she doesn’t respond. She can feel her face being held gently, his fingers caressing her cheeks in such a delicate manor, it almost seems like he thinks she’ll break with any extra pressure. Her eyes are still glossed over, but the small grin that plays at her lips is unmistakable.

Even as its hidden within the comforts of his own lips, the feelings bubbling in her chest will never leave.
