The balloons are hilarious but I’m really, really loving them calling him out. He’s the President, so I don’t know how much power they actually have against him, but I love that they’re making it very clear they’re not buying his bullshit.

That warmed my heart and then smashed it open. I don’t believe for a moment that Anthy has no feelings of her own, only that she’s not allowed to express them. Utena was genuinely getting through to her, I’m sure of it, but now she’s been scammed into believing her Prince is this misogynist, manipulative asshole, and that Anthy didn’t really love her like she was just starting to realize.

I don’t want to leave things this way. I’m going to see if I can do the next episode during the week, rather than waiting all the way until next weekend, because I’m on break from school and this hurts too much.

That’s right, it’s not true!

It’s scary, though, how he’s making her out to be a genuine empty shell, like she has no actual feelings of her own. It’s an exaggeration of that whole misogynist expectation that a woman defines herself by her relationship, and it makes my blood boil and curdles the spit in my mouth.
