until he is able to kill his parents -- those who have betrayed him the most -- with his bare hands. his greatest victory so far remains to be survival. at this point, he is glad to have survived the badlands and enter the army and find a greater purpose outside of killing. it has, at least, helped him in such a way that he no longer wants to end his own life in order to escape the hellish place he had escaped from (although the thought crosses his mind once or twice).
