who: @rhiannonindigo when: second weekend of september where: some party off campus
Nate wasn’t sure where things stood with Rhiannon and him, after their....thing post-graduation. Nate didn’t cuddle with people, and yet Rhiannon had somehow guilted him into it, even though she had just turned him down, and it was safe to say that when he woke up he barely made a plausible excuse before practically bolting. Of course, with the busy summer that he had, and how often he had gotten trapped back at home, he hadn’t really seen the girl since. And knowing how Rhia was, things were sure to be weird, even though Nate really didn’t see the big deal. He just hoped that she didn’t think the cuddling thing would become the norm.
The start of the year was filled with parties, as was the normal occurrence, and even Nate was being dragged out to a few by his rowing teammates, despite his reluctance to socialize. Once he was there, he did a little more than glower until he had downed a few beers, and then he got out of there as soon as a girl made the move, which thankfully, never took long. Worse comes to worse, he’d text Ceci. He was well on his way to repeating that pattern, sitting on a couch in the corner with his third beer of the night in his hand, half heartedly talking to one of the dudes sitting next to him when he spotted Rhia out of the corner of his eyes. Tuning out whatever the guy was saying, his head turned towards the girl, the bottle frozen at his lips as his eyes followed her, wondering what would be weirder - if he did get up to say hi, or if he didn’t.
