this one’s hot off the presses, kids: if you can’t ask your partner “are you okay?” more than three times without them getting angry at you then they!! are not!! good for you!!!
1) You have to stay alive. 2) If you don’t want to, try. 3) If you can’t, see step 1.
Hi! What were your sources for this? /post/135282271137/types-of-distorted-thinking-this-is-a-shoutout-to Thanks!
The original list of cognitive distortions was created by Aaron T Beck, considered the father of cognitive behavioral therapy, and they were published in his 1972 article Depression; Causes and Treatment. I came across this list in the book Feeling Good: The New Mood Therapy written by his student, David D Burns, M.D, and a more casual version in Beyond Blue by Therese Borchard.
Hello! I've been browsing around your blog and checked your "rhinvent yourself" tag (I hope I spelled that right) and just wanted to say this: Thank you. The posts you've spread and the advice you offer are relate-able and positive, and definitely something we need more of in this world. You are a beautiful person and thank you for bringing this sort of light into the world. :)
Thank you! I’ve seen useful posts around this site, and resources outside that I wanted to keep organized and accessible both for myself and others out there who might be suffering mental illnesses (or just otherwise need some support). Too often I’ve gone searching for aid in the general tags and had to wade through negative posts and rants and art, and I just really wanted to see a safe zone of entirely useful, positive things. I’m glad for anyone who finds it useful. <3
You are so gorgeous???????? Like?????? How????? Oh my gosh
I tell my reflection it’s beautiful and so it is. Me and my body get along, and therefore nothing negative anyone or anything tells us matters; positive comments only affirm what we know!
cutting off all your hair with scissors at the bathroom sink is extremely liberating 10/10 would recommend
okay but big hips and fragile hands and callouses and soft cheeks and dimples and huge thighs and crooked teeth and stretch marks and rolls of skin and pudgy feet and mismatched ears and eyes of every colour and toasty skin and pink cheeks and pasty skin and scars and sweaty hands and snot when they cry and weird giggling and eyelashes and bulky calves and stocky legs and long legs and wide ribcages and back muscles and crazy hair and body hair and buddha bellies and cellulite bumps and freckles all over the place and birthmarks and acne and broken nails and long noses and curvy noses and bums and thin lips and wide lips and unplucked eyebrows and tiny boobs and big boobs and no boobs and just
how can anybody look in the mirror and not say they're gorgeous I mean
