Request: Could you do a Rhodey x daughter!reader who’s dating peter? Just some protective fluff please!
Tony’s phone ringing had all eyes on him during the meeting, most eyes being glaring, though Tony just rolled his eyes and excused himself, standing and leaving the room to take the call. He pulled his phone from his pocket, seeing the name of the caller, and accepted the call. “Rhodey? I’m in a meeting, what’s going on?” He asked over the phone.
“Is the kid with you?” Rhodey immediately asked.
“What?”
“Parker. Peter Parker, is he with you? Do you know where he is?” Rhodey asked in an impatient tone, Tony being able to imagine his best friend pacing back and forth. For a split second Tony was baffled as to why Rhodey would be asking about Peter- the two rarely interacted- had something happened to the kid? However, as he thought more about it, he realised what had happened, and he got a grin on his face.
“He’s probably with Y/N.” He answered, holding back his laughter as he heard his friend groan loudly. “I can picture it now- walking hand in hand, planning their future together, probably stealing kisses-”
“Tony I swear to god!” Rhodey complained, and Tony couldn’t help his laughter. “It isn’t funny! I don’t know where Y/N is and if your kid is taking her for a swing 5,000 feet in the air and he could drop her, I’ll kill him!”
“Okay, I know you’re gonna hate what I’m gonna say- but you’re being over protective.” Tony told him, hearing an annoyed sigh over the phone. “I know Peter, and I know how much that kid loves Y/N. He has literally had a panic attack about hugging her too tight because of his spidey strength, there’s no way he’s gonna take her for a swing, and if it makes you feel any better…” Tony paused, checking his watch. “They should be on the train right now. They’re going to that Festival an hour away- do not ruin it for them, Rhodey, you know that if you rock up Y/N will get mad at you.” He warned. Tony understood Rhodey’s protectiveness over you- he was your godfather afterall, and he’d been there since you were born and helped his friend raise you. He understood why Rhodey was scared about his baby growing up and dating people- he knew that people could be cruel and that people could manipulate you- he’d been a victim of it himself, but he knew Peter, and he knew that while dating a superhero has it’s risks, he knew that Peter would rather die then put you in danger or hurt you. However, Rhodey didn’t know Peter like Tony, and he understood he apprehension on you two dating, leaving Tony to be the mediator to try and keep everyone happy.
“...Alright, alright… I’m just upset she didn’t tell me where she was going.”
“I know, but you’ve got to think about why. She knows you’re looking for a reason to get between her and Peter, so she’s probably romanticising the idea of sneaking out to see him. Open up to her, and maybe actually get to know Peter? I’ll be there as well if you want, we’ll go and do something where there’s no tension, you can have a talk with Peter, and when Y/N sees you two not at each other’s throat, she’ll probably relax and tell you about what’s happening in the relationship and where she’s going with him.” Tony suggested.
“Good point… there’s that convention for technology coming up next week that we’re booked to go to, how about we let them tag along… they can have their time alone while we do a panel and then I can probably have a moment with Peter… does that sound fair?”
“Yeah, more than fair. I’m sure Y/N will be thrilled to see you two finally getting along.”
“Alright. One last thing Tony- how come you knew about them going to the festival?” Rhodey asked his friend. Tony realised his mistake- he hadn’t told Rhodey about it earlier and had kept it a secret until now, presumably being told about the date by either you or Peter beforehand.
“Sorry- you’re breaking up, I didn’t catch that. “
“Tony don’t you dare-”
“It’s just static, I’ll call you ba-” He quickly ended the call, shoving his phone back into his pocket and going back into the meeting room. “Sorry about that- what have I missed?”

Request: Can you do something with James Rhodes x Reader? Something angsty and fluffy. Like R, Rhodey and Tony have been friends since MIT but Rhodey and R only told their feelings recently. When they do Tony and Pepper are like 'Finally!!'. Not sure if it makes sense. Thanks for considering.
“Come on Y/N, I know you’re done in there!” You heard Rhodey calling, knocking on your bedroom door to get you out. You walked to the door, opening the door, before going back to searching. “What are you doing?” He asked, leaning on your dresser.
“I’ve lost that watch.”
“What watch?” He asked.
“The one Tony gave me- I usually put it in this box but I don’t think I put it back after getting wasted at Tony’s last party.” You explained, checking drawers and other boxes of different accessories. Rhodey chuckled, going into his pocket and offering you something. It took a moment for you to process he was waiting for you to notice, and you stopped what you were doing, seeing what he was offering before taking it. Your watch.
“You asked me to hold it for you so you could arm wrestle Thor at the last party and you didn’t ask for it back, so I kept it safe. I remembered you wore it for these parties so I brought it with me.” He explained.
“Thanks, you’re a lifesaver.” You thanked him, putting it on as quick as you could to not waste anymore time. When it was on, you looked back at Rhodey and decided to gift him with a kiss on the cheek, when he grinned at. “Alright, let’s not waste anymore time.”
You two were still getting used to the change in your relationship with each other. You, Rhodey and Tony had been close friends since you’d met in University, sticking close even afterwards, no matter how your lives changed and your jobs forced you to be busy. Even when the two of them became literal superheroes, they still made time for you and made sure you weren’t forgotten- Rhodey especially. Your particular bond had been having a few sparks in the last few years, something you had both noticed but hadn’t commented on in all that time, until just two weeks ago, when you both finally admitted to each other at the exact same time.
You hadn’t become public with the relationship, taking it slow and adjusting. You’d gone on dates, even if they were short and purely over your lunch breaks, and after getting more comfortable with showing each other romantic affection, you had both decided it was probably best to let the third person in your trio of trouble know of the change of dynamic, and you were gonna do that by going to his new party as a couple.
As you arrived at the tower, you both shared a look, unsure on what to expect, before entering the building, arms linked together. The reception had a few people in it, mostly talking among themselves, most also being press trying to sneak into the Billionaire's party full of heroes and big names. You both walked through, head low to ensure that no one would see it was War Machine, and when they did realise, you were already in the elevator, the doors shutting as they tried to get their cameras ready to snap a picture. You both sighed with relief when the doors shut before any pictures could be taken, knowing now all you had to deal with was Tony.
“How do you think he’s gonna react?” You asked Rhodey as the elevator went up.
“I honestly can’t be sure, but if I was gonna guess, he’ll probably not be happy at first but he’ll warm up quickly… hopefully.”
“Yeah… finding out two of your best friends are dating is gonna be awkward and weird… but I don’t think it’s gonna change much.” You responded. You at least hoped so. The last thing you wanted was for this to upset Tony considerably and cause a rift, but you two had talked about this- these feelings for each other were persistent and weren’t going away, and were instead just getting stronger now you were a couple.
As the doors opened to the floor of the party, it was already bustling with people, music playing, people talking, laughing and dancing, and you both manoeuvred to find the bar to get your first drinks, and as soon as you reached it, you found Tony accompanied by Pepper. “I was wondering if you two were going to show up.” Tony greeted, leaning on the bar.
“Sorry, won’t happen again.” You said jokingly to him, acting calm, though you could only focus on the feeling of Rhodey’s arm around your waist pulling you closer to him, and you instinctively did it back. Tony called over the man behind the bar, asking for your regular drinks, and as he did so, Pepper put her attention on you as well, going to say something before she noticed your arms. She kept her eyes on them, not looking at you both in the eye, only tapping Tony’s arm who asked her to wait a moment, but when she persisted he looked at her, and she pointed. Tony looked, and now he was staring as well. And they continued to stare, before they both finally looked you in the face, and by that point you could feel yourself sweating purely from stress, and you had no doubt that Rhodey was the same. “Tony-”
“Are you two dating?” He interrupted.
“Yes.” Rhodey confirmed.
“How long?” Pepper inquired in a similar tone. You felt like a damn teenager bringing a partner home. You and Rhodey briefly looked at each other.
“Uh- a few weeks? A month or so?” You answered, admittedly sounding unsure. Both of them slowly nodded.
“Okay, okay…” Tony commented rather quietly, pinching his thin beard on his chin in thought. What was he thinking about? You weren’t sure if you wanted to know. Tony turned back to his partner, who soon came to smile rather gleefully back. “Guess I owe you dinner at that restaurant.”
“Sorry, what?” Rhodey questioned. “Did… did you two bet that we were gonna get together?”
“Oh no, Clint and Natasha bet as well.” Pepper told you, sound like she was trying to assure you, but you were just… baffled. This was… good? You weren’t sure.
“That suggests that you knew we liked each other.” You pointed out.
“Sure did. No offence but I’ve known since University.”
“Tony, that’s bullshit, we didn’t know we liked each other back then.” Rhodey pointed out.
“I’m just that good.” He shrugged smugly, getting a nudge from Pepper to tell him he was pushing his luck. You and Rhodey just rolled your eyes, happy that it had gone so well.
