OH! Story idea!!

(This would be my first idea for a whole STORY since like.... 2014 or something?!)

This got really long and detailed, so TL;DR Dove is left alone in the Tower to handle the werewolf on a full moon night, without really knowing what the others have just left her in charge of, and this creates a GRAND opportunity to explore not only her cynophobia in a demonstrative story, but her bravery in the face of her fear! Also would act as a good primer in her training to Do Hero Stuff. Also, Dove interacting with a shy man has so much awkward/cuteness potential.

Context: It’s canon in the 00′s Teen Titans GO! comics that the Titans help a werewolf with staying contained when he needs it by keeping him in the Tower.

What if the Titans have to rush out on a mission! On a full moon night! When the shy little werewolf guy is there!! And Dove is left alone with him!!!

What if she’s only gotten the very BAREST briefing on what to do!!!!

He was only in like 1.01 issues (with the .01 acting as a Mention that shows he wasn’t forgotten about in future issues, so you KNOW it wasn’t just a one-off deal), but because he was only actively participating in one relatively-short issue of the series, that means there’s plenty of room to flesh him out. His characterization is pretty two-dimensional from the comics, so it’ll be easy to flesh him out without worrying that I’m mischaracterizing him, because he had like... what, half a dozen speaking lines? I can basically dimensionalize him however I please~

I haven’t had a chance to write Dove interacting with another shy, timid, reserved person before! This would be super interesting in that regard.

Also, Dove has never really had to “take point” on Titans stuff before. And this would offer a chance for her to develope some initiative, some bravery, some Resistance and Activism and generally just actually DOING things instead of just learning HOW to do things. No longer just training for hypotheticals, but actually putting her in the heat of the moment! Exploring what she does the Very First Time she ever has to Be a Hero!

I have no idea how to fit it into any of the plots of stories that have already been planned out... so maybe a oneshot? But where, chronologically?

If Dove isn’t rushing off on the mission with the others, it would either have to be before she’s trained enough to go out into the field, or in the very early months of her training. Maybe this can be her first real taste of “Titans business”.

Oooor, ooh.... Maybe I can make it a prequel to Kary’s debut! Since Kary can turn into a large canid creature, which frightens Dove (and that becomes one of the Delicately Balanced aspects of their friendship in the future, Kary usually being coarse and not caring about boundaries, but she refrains from the shapeshifting around Dove because she has a soft spot for the timid creature)...

I think I should introduce Dove’s cynophobia before that story, which is where meeting a Big Wolf-Like Creature could come in handy! The dog attack was mentioned (and narrated by Dove herself) in Unforeseen, but it hasn’t been properly DEMONSTRATED just HOW it affected her.

And there’s a moment in the Kary-centric story where Kary’s dog jumps up on Dove and thoroughly freaks her out, panicking and loss of powers-control and everything. Raven simply tells Kary, “She’s afraid of dogs” by way of explanation. And in that moment, the focus is more on Kary’s guilt and internal turmoil than Dove’s trauma. So Dove’s reaction is hardly explored...

Dove’s cynophobia would make a night with a WEREWOLF a VERY interesting night, with LOTS of potential for emotional growth. Because she’s afraid of large dogs. But a MONSTER-SIZED WOLFMAN? Oooh, the terror I can imagine in her is DELICIOUS!

And it would be FANTASTIC to actually write out Dove’s bravery! Raven highlights it in DDD, encouraging Dove not to call herself a coward when she spent so long fighting to protect people. But Dove hasn’t had a chance to actually EXERCISE that bravery.

(I mean, she does in TFJ, sort of, but that’s more out of perceived martyrdom in the name of redemption that Dove takes upon herself, rather than being faced with a situation that she has no control over. TFJ was self-inflicted. This story would be more “This is your first assignment.”)

And I think, even in the briefing, the Titans would mention a “wolf”. And Dove wouldn’t have met a wolf in person. Maybe seen them on TV, but had no idea how BIG they are... let ALONE how big a WEREWOLF is!

Yes. Oh YES, this is DEFINITELY something I want to write!

Maybe get it done before Halloween and call it a holiday celebration.... >:3 Yes. Yes, oh I am LOVING how this is shaping up!

You know what, I'm going to start a post listing LGBTQIA+ microlabels that I feel may describe me, but will edit+update as life and growth and change happen.

Asexual+aromantic spectrum - For me, experiencing very little sexual+romantic attraction ever to anyone or anything.

Demisexual + demiromantic - I can literally only ever feel sexual attraction after a close emotional bond has been formed. (Or at least I feel an emotional connection, even with fictional characters.) There's a teensy tiny bit less strict requirement for my romantic attraction, but it's largely the same. I certainly don't want to ACT on it and kiss someone romantically unless I already have an emotional connection.

-> I am actually sex/romance repulsed by default if I don't already know, trust, and actively desire those activities with someone. There might be a term for this specific aspect, but I don't know what it is. If someone I don't know/trust/love in other ways asks to go out with me or go home with them, I get disgusted and firmly turn it down.

( ^ This even affects me in a fandom way. If I don't feel trust/connection between the characters, I'll blacklist/filter out the ship. I don't read fanfiction that has a ship I don't feel a spark between, though I'll make exceptions from friends, but I won't enjoy the shippy content.)

Apressexual: Not feeling sexual attraction until another form of attraction happened first. I'm never going to be sexually attracted to someone I'm not already also platonically, emotionally, or romantically attracted to.

Graysexual + grayromantic - The frequency of which I experience sexual / romantic attraction is much lower than is statistically normal.

-> I've never developed a crush on anyone or anything from looks alone. I'm 33 and I've only ever been in three romantic relationships, one of which I honestly don't think counts because it lasted like a month or less and I didn't feel a damn thing for him. The other one was rather short-lived, lasting about 3 months, but I also didn't feel anything romantic for him, even if he did make me feel happy. I felt deeply for the third, but that was the only one singular instance I've ever actually felt romantic and sexual attraction in.

-> I have literally only actually desired to participate in sexual activities with One (1) singular real-life person.

-> I feel no need, and honestly not really a desire, to actively seek another sexual/romantic partner. If it happens, I wouldn't be against it, but I'm not pining for it, nor the one making the first move. Which brings me to:

Reciprosexual / reciproromantic - I largely feel romantic/sexual attraction only AFTER the other party shows interest. Honestly, before someone else shows interest, it doesn't occur to me to be attracted to them those ways.

-> Note that this contrasts SHARPLY against platonic attraction for me! I quite often meet people that I enjoy having conversations with and think, "I want to be your friend! :)"

Polyamory positive: I've never been in a poly relationship, but I'm very open to it! The longest/deepest relationship I was in was open and I have no regrets, but as far as I know, neither of us actually did anything with that.

After all of the other conditions/qualifications have been met, I'm actually panromantic and pansexual. I genuinely don't care about your gender or sexuality, as long as you're okay with the wild west that is mine.

I'm also firmly agender, though certain Nexus-related shifts flavor it a touch, but not enough that it changes my core identification as Still Being Agender. I get shadows of gender, but it doesn't affect my identity, does that make sense? I wrote a whole essay on it but it involves a lot of otherkin talk so I'll only share it with people who ask first.

(I also identify as gender non-conforming, trans, and nonbinary, but I don't think those count as microlabels. They're umbrella terms, so they're more like macrolabels? lD;;; )

Questioning labels:

Aegosexual / aegoromantic especially? Liking the idea of sexual/romantic fantasies, but not wanting to actually physically participate in them. Aegoromantic especially often has a connotation of enjoying fictional stories about it without desiring one for yourself, which is mostly true for me. This is still a spectrum and there have been exceptions for me, but they're exceptions to the rule. I do not actively desire them.

Berrisexual? Pan, but with the footnote that you're rarely attracted to men/masc folks. I can think of One (1) fictional character I've had sexual attraction to, and One (1) real masc person (who I was already dating when he came out as masc). This seems more like a tiktok trend than anything though so I'm not sure if I want to claim it.

Fictosexual? I have experienced sexual attraction to a few fictional characters. I feel both romantic and sexual attraction more to fictional characters than real people, statistically speaking, by a factor of about 5. I won't list them here for my own privacy, but the two biggest ones (personal reference: from bws b and the one I'm mad about) are because they triggered the demi; that is, I feel an intense emotional connection to them. The third one I've been fantasizing about a lot lately (bws w-adjacent) isn't necessarily an attraction The Person so much as having a fantasy so passionate and triumphant it makes me h*rny. (Body, what the fuck.)

There might be more, but like I said, I'll add / update them as they happen.

(I'd probably cut out the bridge just because, well, it IS a song from Hazbin Hotel, so there's Many Adult Contents in that verse that I don't think apply to the Titans.)

Or maybe it's a group number with all of the Titans? I really like the idea of using Robin and Slade for the line that goes, "I sold my soul to a psychopathic freak. / Ha! And you think that makes you unique?" Robin and Terra re: Slade?

I even know what line I'd use for Raven: "I thought no one could relate to the gruesome ways in which I'm damaged." And maybe the next couplet, "But lettin' walls down can sometimes set you straight; we're all living in same shit sandwich."

...hmm, maybe cut out the line about "it's okay to be a... / Coked-up dick-sucking ho?"

or i could put that over blackfire.

...nah, I probably won't do this because it would actually take a lot of editing to make it Fit the Titans. <XD Again: Hazbin Hotel. Sex is kinda. Around. A lot.

Because, I mean. Back in my childhood, there were crack videos of the Titans singing The Internet is Great (For P*rn!) from Avenue Q. I could just make it a joke video with heart.

I have zero time and spoons (and computing power) for editing videos nowadays, but it's fun to dream.

Note to self:

I listened to Immortal Melancholy today and, a fairly rare occurrence for that song because it usually comes on while I'm at work, I was also reading the lyrics.

And now I want to make a Teen Titans Season 4 AMV to Immortal Melancholy by Epica.

"As the paradise burns" was obviously Azarath in my head initially, but now I think it could be Earth? Titans' Tower?

It specifically brings to mind The End episodes, from Raven's moments of resignation and becoming the portal through to the Titans trying to fight Trigon back. Trying to bring Raven back. "Thinking of how to return to the page, now that our time's run out."

The lyrics VERY much have a vibe of "It's the end of our world but we're still closely bonded."

And unlike most AMVs I've tried to make, it's only a 3 minute song, so it'd be QUICKER than usual. 8F (Plus, it's such a slower tempo that I wouldn't have to switch shots as often to keep it interesting.... They could linger and maybe slow down or add sepia or grainy-film effects to elongate moments.) And gods, it's PRETTY. I never saw many Teen Titans AMVs at all to just a really slow, beautiful ballad.

(And upon typing that, I'm realizing it would also suit DamiRae in JLD:AW...)

Damn. That was my best one so far.

(I DO plan to surpass it when I finally make a Whisper AMV, maybe with the DCAMU version of Whisper and the demo version with all the strings because '03 Raven AMVs to Whisper used to ABOUND, but that AMV has been simmering on the backburner for like 20 years now.)
