Yapping about my first read through of Cruel Prince Part 4

this is just chapter 20 and a little short

I need to talk about chapter 20 WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK IS HAPPENING? So many things happen at the same time and I'm honestly in awe and a little scared rn. This is a damn roller coaster to the max. Holly Black is a queen but also a nightmare (affectionately). I would have never been able to guess this ending o.o. I loved how all the siblings deemed Balekin not to be worthy of the crown. How the old man died was also super iconic. Rhyia even killed herself to not need to crown Balekin the king.

Am I a pretty sad that Dain (the hottie) Greenbriar is dead? Yes. Is this whole chapter still iconic? YESSS.

I'm glad Balekin lost something in his soul when no one would bow to him. (I'm filled with malicious joy on that to the max :D)

Rhyia was a contradiction - both soft and gentle and yet a fierce shieldmaiden. It had taken time, for the pair to grow into friends and then something more. A soft kiss one night had become something more, slowly, gently. But she had been too nervous for it to go much further. She flushed brightly at every gentle touch. It was only when he finally saw them. The scars given to her by her father that he understood. He lifted the length of soft fabric and used it to cover her eyes. He tied it gently and then kissed her shoulder, a brush of beard against the pale skin. “It is me ... just me ... remember.” he murmured quietly as he slowly pulled down the fabric of her gown, tugging at the ties that held it together.
