Drowning in roses I prefer pleasure over pain There’s no sense in talking When all id hear is your name
Don't Fight Fire With Fire
I try and make a habit out of not biting my tongue Of not holding back harshness Nor words that have stung
Because I can remember As a wee little lass Learning to speak With prudeness and class
And pushing back thoughts That I wished to be heard For fear that I'd seem Obnoxious, absurd
And not speaking out No matter how longing To fit in as a lady And for once, belonging
And I hated not speaking nor acting on my thoughts But I made up my mind No matter the cost
And now that I realize What's really to be learned Is that when they say "Don't fight fire with fire" They mean "Stand and burn"
