It just hit me, if Illumi knows where the boys are, is he going to be waiting for them when they get to their destination?? Or is he freakin going to get ON THE TRAIN bc I sensed some foreshadowing with that in the last chapter with what Killua had said...??? And is he going to find out when they call Alluka from the pay phone at the next stop!!?? Ahh so many things I wonder 🤔🤔🤔 ... welllllllllll what i can tell you is that my recent FMAB rewatch (8th, to be exact) has deeply influenced/inspired what i believe will happen in the next chapter(s), but i can’t tell you anything for sure. i don’t like to give “spoilers” for my stories, though even i can’t say anything with too much certainty.
As I’ve mentioned in my author’s notes, the way I write Things I Don’t Understand (and fanfictions/essays in general) is that I don’t plan out everything, but instead let things unfold naturally via the characters, and in a way that the plot of the previous chapters has already established. So, while I have vague ideas for future events and the story’s conclusion, nothing is set in stone and more often than not my ideas vary greatly from their originals. That, or the initial idea(s) in my head is/are such a skeleton of anything that only later I flesh it all out and give it a purpose, using previous narrative and characterization to drive that/those purpose(s).
