for their first anniversary, derek builds spencer a gorgeous new bookshelf
coincidentally, spencer made derek a book (with the help of penelope!) containing a year's worth of pictures together, ticket stubs, letters, and poems that spencer associates with derek
when they move in together, the bookshelf comes along, and that scrapbook is the first thing that goes on the shelf :)
derek once convinced spencer to get bikes so they could bike to work, and spencer arrived red, stinky & drenched in sweat. he takes the metro and some days derek bikes, and they race to see who can get there faster ( it's embarrassing when it's derek :/ )
while derek takes his morning runs, spencer cuts up strawberries and bananas as he preps their favorite sunday morning breakfast of french toast (topped with extra syrup for spencer, and just fruit for derek)
derek is so nervous to introduce spencer to his sisters, because of course they'll love spencer, but that means they're going to give him all of his most embarrassing childhood stories
derek's mom forces all her kids to pose for family christmas cards, and spencer cries when she invites him to be in theirs one year

(that i swear i will get to once school ends) idk if you wanted moreid though so i’ll make it no pairing/platonic hc’s:
they have game nights on days off, and they rotate who’s going to host so that everyone has to do it and it’s not all on penelope
depending on the house the games change: spencer has a nintendo & they play mario kart, derek does card games, garcia does charades, emily does anything that involves drinking. one of emily’s games is two truths and a lie
spencer runs out of ideas that would REALLY stump them. he’s losing, so he has to go really out of pocket to stay in the game
they all say the lie is modeling, except for derek who claims there had to be a reason he always called spencer pretty boy
the actual lie was that he’s never read twilight. he has and he’s literally team edward
they all race to emily’s laptop and penny starts digging around the internet & most of them are catalogue prints and fairly normal but then there’s these two:
the first one, derek says he looks like he’s posing for the cover of a two dollar grocery store bin romance novel (a la fabio)
and the second.... why his nipple out like that.... h*e behaviour.
after this discovery, emily and penelope steal spencer’s identification badge and replace his photo with the one on the left. they’d pick the right but hotch would’ve flagged it for not being work appropriate 🙄
penelope prints his picture out and adds it to her array of “things that make me smile” on her desk to look at on rainy days
spencer knows this & even though he’s embarrassed as hell he can’t believe his best friend gets joy just looking at a silly photo of him
the team does a secret santa exchange for christmas one year & spencer pulls penelope’s name
they’re only allowed a $10 maximum (bc they’re making DUST working government jobs) so spencer decides to recreate the photo for her
he puts it in a bright green frame with pink gemstones and 3D butterfly stickers all around it and yes. spencer made it himself with $10 and a trip to the craft store.
