Ricky Kidd is a middle school student who, despite being mild-mannered and sensible, manages to get himself into every kind of mystery no matter where he goes - a habit that is exacerbated by his exceptional detective skills.

Lisa Higgins is his best-friend-hopefully-more classmate and baseball teammate, matching Ricky deduction-for-deduction but staying cool as a cucumber while doing so.

Their adventures take them from their hometown of Jamesville to the temples of Mexico, the swamps of the Everglades, and the streets of New York, but Ricky and Lisa always make time for some good old-fashioned rivalry... and the occasional kiss on the cheek.

The first settler in Ashton was John Sumner. Sumner chose to be near the Goodwood River, (now known as the Jock River) which gave the village the power it needed to establish a mill. Every single other town had a mill, so why shouldn’t Ashton?
