Been Down So Long it Looks Like Up to Me. So by the 3rd chapter of this incoherent narrative, our self obsessed protagonist has already: established his own unfounded feelings of superiority and exceptionalism (he’s “exempt” from, apparently, whatever he wants); treated even those people he identifies as his close and preferred associates as objects, means to an end; made explicit his non recognition of women as people outside of their sex appeal or utility (also chiefly sexual); and had unprotected intercourse with a woman against her explicit (repeated) objections. And Joan Baez let this guy into her house?
