I gave myself a few personal aims when #painting this, among other paintings with in the #workrotation/ #workcarsousel. - painting it that it is clear visible the artist has painted by himself without assistance. No art production painting dozen recipey like, convience food like industry production like paintings by a squadron of professionell art studio assistants. Nope. Clear visible, the artist has painted by it by himself. Including accepting that the painting has parts which are far perfect painted. ( Perfection is a boring illusion). Iam writing this with good vibes. All good. - painting it in away that none can paint a 1 to 1 copy, from the painting. If this whole quarantine thing is good for one thing, its giving me lots of time to whittle away at my “To-Read” shelf. This here is March’s Haul! It had book number 7 of 20 in the Sharpe series where Lt Richard Sharpe leads his band of cut off Rifles in the Oporto Campaign, Malcolm Gladwell’s analysis of underdogs and how people are successful against frightful odds, The late Dr. Hans Rosling’s thesis about a factually continuously improving world regardless of our preconceived notions and biases, and Steven Pinker’s mutually supported thesis on an improving world with the addition advances in science and reason. Also part of this pile is the history of two separate Canadian Regiment during the Second World War. Farely Mowat’s “The Regiment” follows his own regiment The Hasting and Prince Edward Regiment (The Hasty P’s) from its mobilization in Canada to the War’s end in North-West Europe. The other is David O’Keefe’s history of the Black Watch, Royal Highlanders of Canada that covers its culture, traditions, flaws, strengths, and the first 7 days of their Normandy Campaign culminating in their attack at Verrières Ridge where they sustained 94% Casualties. _______________________________________ Since I see myself being confined to my home for the foreseeable future, I’ll be making good use of the time by upping my literary intake.
