Well sue you!

You may have seen a lot of news lately about "equality" and "rights."  But while there have been mammoth fillibusters to protect a woman's right to have an abortion, and steps been made to overturn the ban on gay marriages, there is a far more disturbing target of ignorant discrimination - against the rich. That's right rich people. These people just can't catch a break.

The latest horrendous act of richism comes to us from Manhattan in the good ol' US of A. A socialite couple (translation: rich and unemployed) are suing their sons' private school for over $400,000 after claiming they were tricked into bidding $50,000 for a fingerpainting done by kindergarten children.

The rich couple, Jon and Michelle-Marie Heinemann, were not present at the school benefit auction, but have a 5 year old son who goes to the school. As they were not attending the benefit auction themselves, they instructed the school to bid on their behalf until they won the artwork. Though only expecting to pay $3000 for the kindergarten student fingerprinting, rival bids from school employees drove the final price for the school benefit auction piece up to $50,000.  The couple have since removed their child from the school. 

Rather rather than return the item and ask for their $50,000 back, or worse - spending a small amount of their vast fortune to help their the school their son attends - the couple have decided to sue the school for more than 8 times as much as they paid for the artwork. Some of the claims include: - $20,000 for a new school tuition. - $60,000 to pay the chauffeur who is no longer required. - $1,600 per week for the housekeeper who is also no longer required.

They also claim they were "forced to endure humiliation and emotional damages" in the aftermath of the audition. Can you even begin to imagine the kinds of things the people who they have paid to listen for them have heard?

On top of the above claims relating to the benefit auction, the wealthy couple are also claiming that their son was treated unfairly during the 2012-13 school year. "He was always being picked last for polo classes, and by lunch, all the gold cutlery was taken and he had to use plastic forks to eat his caviar. Plastic forks, like a common hobo!" one fake source was quoted as saying. Documents also claim that the child also once had to hold open a door for other students.

It's 2013 and we are still expecting the children of rich people to occasionally be nice and open doors like the rest of our smelly, disgusting poor-people society. Something has to change!  Show you support for this deeply important cause by tweeting with the hashtag #endRichism

The auction lawsuit could carry on for some time. In the mean time, the school have offered a second finger painting to the couple, free of charge.
