Rick Grimes X Reader: Deadly Supply Run
Prompt: Reader-chan gets attacked while on a supply run.
Warnings: Swearing, dangerous situation.
You were walking around on the street, slowly putting one foot in front of the other, not paying any attention to where you were going.
You could hear /them/ in front of you, but it did not matter right now. You heard the slurp-like noises, and the thumps to the ground.
“(Y/N)! Pay attention or you’ll get hurt!” You heard your boyfriend’s voice, snapping you back into the post-apocalyptic reality.
“I’ll be fine, I’ve got you two.” You responded, giving Rick a cocky grin as your fingers wrapped around your short blade’s hilt.
“And if we’re fighting our own fights when you need help?” Daryl called out, his tone ruining the playful atmosphere.
“Relax Daryl, she can take care of herself. I wouldn’t let her come out here if she couldn’t.” Rick shouted back but ran over next to you anyway.
You did not say anything as you continued down the path, fully alert as you looked around the deserted town.
After a few minutes of peaceful silence, Rick began to walk ahead of you, moving forward to do what appeared to be talking to Daryl.
They must have been having a pretty interesting conversation because they both managed to pass a boarded up door to a pharmacy. You pushed yourself to move faster, looking through the window as you approached it. You gasped as you saw all of the shelves filled with medicine and energy bars and water bottles.
“I’m going in!” You called to Rick, who was far ahead of you, and he turned back and shouted something back that you didn’t catch.
You sprinted a few steps over to the door, backed up, and slammed your body against the wooden boards and glass door.
“Shit!” You cursed as you fell through the door, cutting your skin on bits of glass. Ignoring the pain, you pulled out your knife, getting off the floor and looking around.
You were caught by surprise when you looked back to the door and saw what awaited you.
Groaning and shuffling forward, a large male walker that looked to be somewhere from 300-350lbs, and it tackled you with such force that you dropped your weapon and fell back into the shards of glass.
You let out a yelp as you fought with all your strength to keep the thing from biting you.
The next few things happened very quickly.
First-there was a squishing, wet noise.
Second-all of the unmoving-walkers weight was now on top of you.
Next-The monster was rolled off of you.
And finally-Rick was grabbing your hand and pulling you off of the ground.
You heard a lot of shouting before you finally recomposed yourself enough to focus on anything.
“(Y/N)! (Y/N), answer me!” Rick spoke, holding your waist to avoid you falling to the ground.
“Wha?” You answered, taking the next few seconds to shake off the fear of a near-death experience.
“Are you bit? Scratched? Hurt?” Rick fired the questions at you, holding you tightly to his chest and looking down at you.
“No, the walker didn’t get me. The glass seemed to be the bigger enemy here.” You responded, giving a small smile as Rick sighed.
“Good. Now next time I tell you to wait, you wait, understand?” Rick responded sternly, letting you stand on your own.
“C'mon, Rick, we got a lotta shit here to pack up. Get movin’.” Daryl began collecting some of the medicine, Rick and you soon following his lead.
“(Y/N), come with me.” Rick’s rough voice cut through the silence as you placed your pack on the ground for the other members of Alexandria to put away.
Silently you followed Rick onto his porch and through the front door, out of sight of everyone else.
After a moment of just standing there, Rick turned to you. “What the fuck was that? You almost got bit!” He yelled, giving you a harsh look and putting a hand on his belt.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t hear you. I didn’t think there would be anyone in there.” You replied quietly, looking down in shame.
You then felt yourself being shoved backward until you hit a wooden surface.
‘It must be the door’; you thought to yourself before Rick’s lips smashed themselves onto yours.
You didn’t respond for a second before you kissed back, allowing Rick’s tongue to take entrance in your mouth.
After a little while, you both pulled away, out of breath.
“Don’t ever get yourself hurt again.”
