“Baby?” Loki said as he clutched her body that lay on the ground breathless. “Please don’t leave me. You need to keep breathing for me.”
You kept your eyes closed, your body limp in his muscled arms. You wanted to get up, move, show something that proved you were still alive but you couldn't. You didn’t know how to express what you were feeling with real words, you didn’t know how to tell him that what you felt on the outside was precisely what you were feeling on the inside. You were dying, both in and out, and it was killing you that your mind couldn’t force your body to live anymore.
“(Y/n),” he pleaded. “Don’t do this. I know you can hear me, I know you can take a breath, just one, and focus on me. It’s not that difficult, please, just do what I’m telling you.”
You wanted to try, you really did. But it’s so difficult living in a world where you couldn’t be who you are. You couldn’t live somewhere that you were treated like less than nothing because you had different viewpoints, because you fell in love with a god.
“(Y/n). You do not get to leave me like this just because you’re pissed off at the world. Come back to me. I’m the only one who matters in this situation because you’re not in the right mind. I’m going to bring you back to my home, and then you’re going to be okay.”
You felt yourself lifted from the ground, your body pressed against his warm chest. You felt some life being drained back into you as his magic began to drain into you.
“I’m so tired,” you told your boyfriend, sucking in your first breath of air. You felt yourself vomit the breath back out, your eyes rolling back as you did.
“I know, I know, but darling, please, take another breath,” he urged you.
“But it hurts,” you whimpered, but you tried anyways. You held a bit more in this time.
Loki shook his head. “It’s not that bad. I’m going to help you through it and you know it. I love you, and that’s enough to get you through anything.”
“But what if I can’t?” You asked, wincing at the pain it took to speak anything. “What if I can’t do any of this like you seem to think I can? It hurts, Loki, why can’t you understand how much it hurts? Nobody ever understands.”
“I do understand (Y/n). I can feel your pain, I can feel everything you feel. I can see how much you’re hurting, and I want you to know I’m here for you. I’m going to take all of your pain away.”
“Promise to take all of it away?” You begged, your eyesight failing as you looked towards the sky that began to glow a rainbow colour as it embraced you into its warmth, promising safety and comfort.
You knew you would be okay in Asgard. That was why you loved it so much.
