Rick Loomis founded Flying Buffalo in 1970 to run PBM games using a Raytheon computer with 16K of memory. Starweb was introduced in 1975, the same year Flying Buffalo began selling Ken St Andre's Tunnels & Trolls tabletop RPG. The play-by-mail games were still being run as recently as 2021 through a company called RickLoomis PBM, even after Loomis' death in 2019.
