anygays i LOAV sharks and he is my new fav character to hyperfixate on along with armada megatron, demolishor, cyclonus, red alert, rampage, starscream and rid 2001 sideburn
Almost done watch RID 2001 , and I wnates to also make a predacon! Tidal Soar is with Sky-Byte :3 they are a spy of sorts, serving for Reacon and Intel to lord Megatron!
They have a clocking ability that helps then almost disappear under water or in the air ! They also glow in deep depths! They domt have to much info yet , but they are shy and quiet. More of a listener to SB's yapping ♡
Also yes their name is a pun of "Tidal Shore", soar is because they can fly and rays lookalike they fly under water!
I once read a fanfic that put the Seacons into RiD01. What was interesting about them was they were basically to Sky-Byte what the Animated Starscream clones were to Starscream: they represented one facet of his personality!
We’re back at it again and right back to normal. Hope you enjoy!
Chubformers drabble #117!
Character: Sky-Byte (RID ‘01)
Word count: 1k
The current was stronger than ever that morning as Sky-Byte made his laps around the expansive waters. Subjecting himself to something as demeaning and primitive as this was an embarrassment for sure, but nothing cleared his helm like letting his processor shift over to autopilot for a time.
Those idiots he called subordinates, always pinning him to the spot when things came to an awful head. He would’ve never been so nervous about reporting to Megatron if it wasn’t for their foolish mishaps and frequent shortcomings, but alas. Sky-Byte was subjected to yet another stream of profanities and cutting words from their leader about his own apparent failures, regardless of his lack of involvement in the first place.
The Predacon’s tail swished furiously behind him, warping the current’s pull as he took a sharp turn and circled back. There was time for another lap or three, and he was going to take it. Avoiding his problems and letting himself simmer in pity and worry seemed better than facing the issue he left unattended anyways.
The disaster of the night before hadn’t been his fault. Really, it hadn’t been! How was he to know that gorging himself before a meeting with Megatron amongst his fellow Predacons was going to go poorly? As the days crept by, his anxiety heightened, and each passing hour without that congratulatory moment with their Decepticon leader making Sky-Byte’s hopes falter.
It wasn’t intentional, at least. He had that going for him. Greater anxiety meant greater attempts at striving for success and praise, which in turn meant greater waves of hunger to claw at his near-constantly empty belly. The appetite of a Predacon with a shark-based alt mode was unrivaled, and while Sky-Byte did what he could to rein himself in, oftentimes thinking clearly meant giving into temptation.
Another disappointing meeting with Megatron had left the Predacon feeling more famished than before, and after some time spent pacing the halls of their shared quarters, Sky-Byte found he just couldn’t help himself any longer. The increasing number of snide comments and remarks made in passing were nearly enough to convince him otherwise, but he knew better than to go into another important moment of his Decepticon career with growling tanks.
The communal pantry had looked worse than an underwater feeding frenzy by the time he was done with it, and while Sky-Byte detested the thought of sticking around for his fellow Predacons to spot him, his overindulgence had taken its toll. The scathing rumors spread about the crew had to have been rooted in some sense of truth, he supposed, because being stuck sitting on his aft in front of the empty pantry while he soothed his still rumbling belly was quite a sight, even for himself.
Primus help him, for he had truly thought that would be the end of his suffering.
The sounds of his ravenous feast was just enough to lure in the vultures, so to speak, and Sky-Byte was no better than a sitting duck when the first of his fellow Predacons appeared in the doorway. Between the snickers and mumbled words, he was blessed with the addition of the group shoving their way towards him for what he could only imagine was snatching up a closer look.
“I think he’s had his fill this time,” Slapper managed to say past the uncontrollable laughter. “How d’you suppose he’ll make it to Megatron on time looking like this?”
A webbed servo reached out to stroke the bloated swell of the shark’s poor belly, but Sky-Byte preserved enough strength to quickly swat it aside. He groaned at the motion and lifted a servo of his own to his face, willing the overabundant feast of cheap snacks and empty treats to stay down.
Though unexpected when discussing their fearsome leader, Gas Skunk couldn’t help but sneak a pinch at the strained mesh of Sky-Byte’s middle. The other two Predacons fell into another bout of laughter at the feeble attempts from their supposed commander to stop the harassment.
“We’ll just have to drop him into the ocean tide and hope he floats,” the mech snarled. “What do you say, boss? That oughta teach you a lesson or two about filling that gut of yours on our shared shanix, right?”
That did not happen, thank the stars, but Sky-Byte could tell they were considering it. Making his allotted time with Megatron was easier than anticipated in the end, but even arriving on time hadn’t saved the bot from embarrassment. He’d cut the meeting short soon after the warning rumbles of his tanks had started up again, and he hadn’t left the open waters since then.
Swimming throughout the night and long into the day was hardly beneficial, and he knew it. Ignoring his comms fell somewhere into the same category, for sure, but he would be damned if he showed his face again without at least making up for the abysmal display in front of their leader.
Sky-Byte’s fin coasted across the water’s surface for a moment before he dove back down to the depths below, having quickly decided he was nowhere near ready to get out and face the consequences of his indulgence. Even so, his belly had long since depleted the indulgent feast he’d given into, and the lingering pain of hunger and need was clawing at him once more.
There was no hiding his anxieties, nor his recent weight gain and unpleasant coping mechanisms. However, if he could spare himself the pain of dealing with it even for a little while, Sky-Byte was going to do just that.
He would resurface soon, and with it would come the shame of acknowledging his failures with Megatron before diving right back into the comfort food would bring. For now, he merely swam instead.
